The most useful review selected by IndeedVendasta is has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, you can feel it the moment you walk in. Coworkers are fairly decent and mangers and team lead are very supportive. The free breakfast is a good plus.

Not too good experience
Account Executive (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 3 April 2023
The company is good and it's growing rapidly. Their product is very complex and the support system is not so good. Overall it's a good company but it was certainly not joyful to work

Account Executive (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 March 2023
I have been trying very hard to get the job at Vendasta and why not? It has a mesmerising culture, reputation and brand. I finally got the job at Vendasta after a few rounds of tough interviews. Yes, it is tough to get in. I was feeling proud to join Vendasta. People were feeling jealous of me. There are many great things about Vendasta but unfortunately, Vendasta is not as good as it looks and sounds. DO NOT be mesmerised by their videos on Instagram and youtube. There are a few good points about Vendasta. Let me give my honest review. Positive points: It has a very strong reputation in the industry You will be working with some of the smartest people and there is a lot to learn from everyone Amazing infrastructure. It gives a stunning 360 degree view of the Saskatoon. I was in sales and the pay is really good. The commission structure is way above the industry standard. You can make a ton of money. Everything is well-documented. There is nothing you can not know The podcast and learning resources are very powerful and engaging. The online learning tools are excellent and way above the standard. A huge team of 500+ people Highly advanced and sophisticated software and tools that makes your work fast and efficient Vendasta is offering many world-class products and services. They are sellable and are in need. There is a lot of scope for advancement. It's called 'one company many careers'. If you want to change the role after some time, there is a wider choice to move into. The company is growing by leaps and bounds. It has a huge potential and a bright future They give a lot -
Pros
Good pay, Learning experience, Infrastructure
Cons
Dirty politics, poor management, poor support

Official response from Vendasta
30 March 2023We're disappointed to read this review, and frankly we don't recognize the company you are describing. If employees have concerns, they are always free to talk to People Operations, who will hear their issues in a non-judgemental manner. Having said that, Vendasta is a fast-moving place and while we work hard to put multiple supports in place for employees, and give them an outlet to do their best work. It's not for everyone, and we sincerely hope that you have found a company that better fits your expectations. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Fast-moving company with a great culture
Sales and Marketing Supervisor (Current Employee) - Saskatoon - 17 October 2022
Buckle up if you're going to work at Vendasta. This is a great company with exactly the right kind of competitive and fast-moving culture. You'll laugh lots, learn lots and the day will go by in a flash. You'll get lots of support and your learning curve will be as steep as you want to make it.

Good place to work from.
Software Developer (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, Canada - 11 October 2022
This is one of the best workplaces I really enjoyed. There are a lot of opportunities to advance your career, learn new tech stacks, and work from home as long as you like.

Sort of depends what department you work for
Partner Success Manager (Account Manager) (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 10 May 2022
Vendasta has and continues to change at a pretty rapid pace however during my tenure with the company, it seemed that each employees experience would great vary and depend on their role/department. Apart from the obvious differences in function, there is a different attitude towards developers and every other department or employee; 1 playing foosball and wearing flip flops all day vs every other team grinding through the day and chastised for touching a table or god forbid, a ping-pong racquet (before it was damaged)

An extraordinary work culture and environment, with great opportunity for growth and development.
Sales Engineer (Current Employee) - 410 22 St E 15th Floor, Saskatoon, SK S7K 5T6 - 23 December 2021
I moved from another province for an opportunity to work at Vendasta. Even though I knew very little about the work environment and company culture, I decided to take a risk, and I can honestly say that it was the best decision I could have made. Vendasta has developed an inclusive, energetic, fun and challenging ecosystem for its employees to work, create and collaborate with each other. If you are agile in adapting to new situations and thrive in fast-passed work environments, then Vendasta is the place for you. Self development and career growth are also deeply rooted within the company's culture. The management team will work with you to help find the best and most rewarding career path for you within the company. All things considered, Vendasta offers competitive salary and lots of perks like discounts, free food, remote work flexibility, and more.
Pros
Free breakfast and afternoon snacks, Lunches are served on the premises and are very cheap ($5), Happy hour every Friday after work, Great company culture, Inclusive environment, Flexibility on remote work and working hours, Fun company events throughout the year, Discount on parking permits & bus passes, Discount for many gyms across Saskatoon
Cons
Company is still experiencing growing pains, resulting in lack of solid procedures and processes

30 March 2023Thank you for your very thorough and fair review of Vendasta. You have picked up on many of the areas we emphasize and work hard at. We want to be a place that people enjoy showing up at every day and building a career. Our growth has been fast and significant, which does mean that we're building the rocket ship in flight. We have made significant strides in the last year regarding our processes, and we believe we're well positioned to manage the next stage of growth. On the bright side, it's never dull around here!
Great People. Awesome Culture. So far, the best job I had in my career. Love it!
Support Specialist (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 23 December 2021
From day one I was excited and I still am. The support team is very supportive and helps understand the platform very well. Share experiences and learnings is part of the culture in my team and the whole company. I feel everyone is eager to help each other and of course, the partners. The management is transparent and always open to feedback. Weekly meetings with team leads help to keep me up to date.
Pros
Health Benefits after 90 days, adjustable desks (for standing during work), remote working possible, breakfast and lunch provided (cost recovery), Free snacks and pop, catering on Fridays.
Cons
It takes a few weeks to really understand how the platform works, This can be tough, but once you know it, it's easy to work with partners and internal team to succeed.

Support (Current Employee) - HQ - 22 December 2021
My time so far at Vendasta has been wonderful! It is really a stark difference compared to my previous employment as my new team is collaborative, enjoyable, and extremely supportive. They are dedicated to growth as many people work in multiple areas of the company, and they encourage personal and professional growth too! The company is growing and growing quickly so they are constantly adjusting and readjusting. It's exciting, and challenging work, and the people are super great! They take constructive criticism well and are look for ways to improve their employees' experiences. My area revamped their training because the old way didn't work, and the new way is much better!

Free hot breakfast, lunches, standing desks, wellness initiatives, supportive team, exciting growth opportunities, wonderful people, ping pong
Cons
Constantly changing (might be a bit of a challenge for people who need rigid structure)

One Company with many Opportunities for growth.
Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 December 2021
Vendasta has allowed me to grow as an employee by offering me a variety of different opportunities for advancement. I came in looking at Vendasta as a stepping stone out of University to gain experience. I quickly realized once I was onboard that this was not a stepping stone but a potentially forever job. Over my time with Vendasta I've been able to be a part of many different projects that have allowed me to develop different skillsets I never thought I would have. It is an exciting place to work as it is fast paced and encourages new ideas from their employees.
Pros
Provide amazing lunches, Games to play at lunch time, Leadership team, One job-many careers, open to feedback, transparency with company goals

Fast paced, energizing environment
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 December 2021
Working at Vendasta has provided me with the opportunity to work with multiple enterprise partners which allows me to work with our various internal R&D teams. Collaboration is encouraged and has provided with the teams to work together to the betterment of the organization and our Partners (clients). Management at all levels are aware of the work that is progressing and available to help when needed. The S-team recognizes the hard work that goes into keeping our partners engaged and happy. The culture is also important and all employees are encouraged to participate in any social event that they feel comfortable attending. During the pandemic everyone was encouraged to stay home but if living arrangements weren't ideal employees were allowed to continue working in the office with the necessary precautions being taken. Now that things have opened up, employees are being encouraged to return to the office but no one is being forced to as Vendasta recognized that employees were productive both working from home and the office.
Pros
Amazing chef inspired meals, happy hour Fridays, recognition, management support, unlimited sick PTO, culture, collaboration between teams, work colleagues, good work and life balance, salary.
Cons
Benefits are good but they could be better (coverage on glasses could be improved :)).

23 December 2021Thank you so much for the five-star review! The pandemic is challenging, and we're doing our best to remain flexible for our teams. We also *see* your feedback on benefits! It's a big reason why we've recently introduced the Health Spending Account. If you'd like to learn more about the HSA can help, please reach out to Jean Parchewsky on Slack, or pop by People Operations and we'll be glad to give you a run-through!
Amazing Company!
People Operations (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 December 2021
While there are many great things about working here, my favourite thing about Vendasta is definitely the culture. It's collaborative, engaging, fun, and strongly supports employee development. I get to work alongside incredibly smart and talented people who challenge me to grow and learn something new almost every day!
Pros
Culture, perks, flexibility, career growth

Best job I've ever had! Amazing workplace culture, fantastic management, and great perks!
Partner Development Manager (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 December 2021
I'll start this off by saying this is the best company I've ever worked for... Management always makes you feel valued and appreciated, all of my colleagues are fantastic! Whenever I go up to someone with a question it's never "what now?" and always "how can I help" regardless of their department or how high up they are on the org chart. The culture is amazing, from the free beer, wine and coolers for the team on Fridays to numerous special events like our annual Party in the Park make it really feel like working at Vendasta feel like more than "just a job." The company's mission is something I can truly get behind as well: "the democratization of technology for local businesses worldwide." I feel like I'm helping accomplish something great each and every day.
Pros
Work in a high-rise office block in downtown Saskatoon, Ability to work partially remote if one chooses, The food served in the café on the 16th floor is fantastic
Cons
none really

Rewarding work solving big problems
Marketing (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 22 December 2021
One of the sayings at Vendasta is, "one job, many careers". The company has grown rapidly over the past few years. As such, there are so many opportunities for people to grow into different areas of the organization. The company is focused on building a platform to help small businesses adopt new technologies to grow their businesses. It's challenging work that requires solving big problems. It's rewarding work. People who are making a difference, small or big, are recognized on a weekly basis in front of the whole company. It's a great team environment and a great opportunity for people who like to win.

You're better off elsewhere
Employee (Current Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 27 February 2021
If you like micromanagement, high stress, and mediocre pay, Vendasta is a great company. The average "cycle" (3-5 months): - Sell a large client on features we don't have - Spend months focusing on that client - Discover a "fire" and pivot entire divisions to put it out - Neglect the large client until they become a "fire" threatening to churn - Rinse and repeat At the start of the year, the company will say "This is the year of great customer experience", but then build new features while the core system is janky and borderline unusable. This happens every year. Toxic behavior is rewarded as long as it brings results. If you have mental health issues, please take this seriously. Vendasta is behind almost every other tech company in the prairies when it comes to supporting employees. Your mental health is likely to suffer. You have to sing in front of the whole company on your first Friday. In general, only the leadership team likes this. It's hazing, which speaks to the culture in general. Every new employee is warned about this their first week... if you have to warn new employees about this, that should be a red flag. The company tries to do too much. Burnout is common, and the software is of low quality. It's not all negatives. The coworkers are in general great, and the work is challenging. The free food was great when we could have it too.
Pros
Free food (pre-pandemic), interesting work, great coworkers
Cons
Micromanagement, high turnover, intense stress

2 March 2021We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns so you can find a happy career at Vendasta. It sounds like you’ve been working directly with our partners, and the teams that do that are critical to our business’s success. Just as critical is the software we produce to serve them. 2020 was the year of great customer experience, and we managed to do a lot to remove frictions. As any software company can attest, there’s always more work to do. I hope you’ll stay with our team to see how the platform and our partnerships grow. This all said, it sounds like you are experiencing stress and unhappiness at work, and that’s something we need to fix. We’ve taken note of your feedback and shared it with People Operations and the executive team. Now, let’s talk about some options to get things back on track: First, you can chat with your team leader in your weekly one-on-one about specific issues or barriers so that they can help address them. Second, you can submit an anonymous question or comment for All Hands in VoxPopuli (which is linked on the Intranet homepage). Third, you can provide anonymized feedback in Officevibe, which is regularly reviewed by leadership teams. If you are concerned about your or others’ mental health, be sure to check out our resources on the Intranet portal under Vendastian Playbook. The team is looking to update that information to include mental health support opportunities through our benefits plan. Regardless of the path you choose, I hope you know you are heard, you are supported, and we are having active conversations about your feedback.
Fast-Paced, but Very Poor Communication
Marketing Strategist (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 9 February 2021
During my short time at Vendasta, there were many instances that made me realize this wasn't a great place to work. They oversell themselves as a company that revels in team-bonding and life-work balance. However, as my colleagues expressed working almost double their hours to stay on top of day-to-day work, with no help from upper management to help with more incoming and overbearing work, it became difficult to root for the company. I went through a restructure that I was not informed of previous to being hired. My role as a "Marketing Strategist" was changed to "Account Coordinator" without being notified (which is against labour standards, but they didn't even have me talk to HR or sign any forms for this). My training for this position was cut short after a month, while my duties that I had been trained for changed suddenly - while I was told it would take 5-6 months to train for my position. I asked to be moved to a department that desperately needed more help, and I was told that they would love to have me, but any changes wouldn't happen for a month or longer. It was an overall great experience meeting the people that worked there, however, the expectations and workload don't match the salary or vision they try selling you from the start. Also, good luck getting any sort of raise if you're not an executive - the poor starting wage is the best you'll get unless you fight tooth and nail for something better. Good stepping-stone company, but look elsewhere if you already have experience.
Pros
Free lunches, Free Breakfast, fast-paced
Cons
Poor salary to workload ratio, poor training, expensive parking, unprofessional, poor communication

17 February 2021It is unfortunate to hear you didn’t have a great experience in your short time at Vendasta. Our Marketing Services division had some organizational changes, and we aimed to be transparent about the new roles. Thank you sincerely for the feedback. We’ll be able to meet with the team to discuss how we can improve in the future. To speak specifically to pay, we have an annual review process regarding raises for all employees to ensure we always have an eye on the value of our people and their skills. It was good to hear that you had a great experience meeting and working with your team. We recognize it can be hard working remote, and wonderful team members can make all the difference!
If work hard play hard is relevant to you, Vendasta is the place!
SALES DEVELOPMENT REP, VENDASTA (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 26 September 2020
Best Company I've ever worked for hands down. The CEO, the founders, and team management leaders have created a culture that will help you grow in your career as well as personal development. Vendasta is a Family! There is nothing better than Family!
Pros
Fringe Benefits

Fast-paced company with great culture but poor management
Marketer (Former Employee) - Saskatoon, SK - 16 September 2020
To succeed at Vendasta you have to be passionate, creative, and a quick-learner. Your manager may not always be able to support you or tell you exactly what to do, but if you develop a passion for your work and experiment, you may succeed! Overall, I found the amount of stress and lack of support hard on my mental health.
Pros
free food, great people
Cons
poor management, high stress
