What do all of these companies have in common?

We're all LEADERS in our respective industries.

Vancouver Fire & Radius Security is B.C.’s largest and oldest fire protection, fire safety and commercial security company. Radius Security is also helping us make are mark across the map, as we have established offices (and wicked teams) in Alberta, Ontario, and Texas.

Why Texas? We get that a lot.

A lot of research went into which state we would be most successful in for various factors (growth, police presence, crime rate, competitive landscape, ability to get direct flights from BC, etc.) However, the fact that Texans know their way around a BBQ also played a factor.

Our mission - to create safe communities.

How meaningful is that?

Working here is NOT just a job. It is a career that you can brag about. Whether you're here doing data entry, helping prospect new customers, answering customer inquiries, designing the newest and greatest "Rosie" (she's our beautiful one-of-a-kind tailor-made security systems), inspecting and filling an extinguisher, in the field doing the inspection, or balancing budgets in Accounting - every SINGLE role is needed to make this engine work.

What we do is exciting! (or at least we think so). We are making sure our customers and community at large are safe in regards of fire preventative services and security. We're like heroes without the capes.

We have our eyes set on some exciting goals in the next few years ... from business expansion, team growth, new product development, leaning out our internal processes, and the list goes on.

However 2 of the most exciting goals we have is to work towards being awarded Richmond's 'Best Company Culture' & 'Canada's Top Places to Work'.

No those are not small feats.

We cannot just remain comfortable with the strong family-oriented culture that has brought us to this point. No, siree- Bob!

We need to continue to attract and retain the BEST teammates out there to make this all possible. We are picky with who we welcome into our family?

Do you think YOU would make the cut?

If so, we are dying to hear from you. Well that's dramatic, we will tone it down ... we are SO very excited to hear from you and discuss how you might fit into this wild, hard-working, AWESOME family.

Oh and not only do we take care of our communities through the services we offer, we also feel it is our RESPONSIBILITY to take care of our community at large. Through our employee-led COMMUNITY MATTERS team, we have created some incredible partnerships with organizations across B.C. that help either support youth facing barriers or families impacted by the devastation of fire. Fast paced work. Great family culture

I have been here for almost a year and so far this company lives by their DNA. People are friendly and very welcoming, everyone is willing to help if you're in need; mistakes are never shunned, instead they are used as an opportunity to teach to help you grow within the company. This extends to management and the level of support they provide. At this place, there is zero tolerance for customers to abuse employees. This is really important to me as at my previous job, customers could speak and do whatever they want towards employees and have their terrible behavior rewarded. You can feel the family environment during onboarding, People and Culture (HR) truly care about the employees and are constantly looking for ways to create employee engagement. If you want to feel like you are part of a team. This is the place to work.

Energetic and inclusive work place

From my experience this work place has been extremely patient and understanding through the entirety of my training process. Making me feel very welcome and valued as a team member. They have taken steps to insure that I excel and can bring my own ideas to the table to try and help further build the company. Additionally my co-workers are always trying to build community by running department and company wide events. I would highly recommend working for this company!

Disorganized and Stressful Place To Work

Management is a mess here, they only put family members in higher up roles. High turnover rates in all positions due to being understaffed and underpaid. Owner only cares about their bottom line and not about the well-being of their employees. Lots of empty promises as well to string employees along to keep them as long as possible.

Overall it was typical interview questions. This isn't a full list but here are the standout questions from my interview... 1. Tell us about yourself 2. What sets you apart from others 3. Related experience (if any) 4. Strengths/Weaknesses 5. What do you think your previous employers would say about you 6. Why do you think you're a good fit for this role. Beyond that it was just general conversation about your background and problem solving abilities. In my experience the interview process was very pleasant and inviting. Nothing to stress out over :)
