Productive & a great place to work to. Safety of clients & staff a priority. Good working relationship with multidisciplinary team. A lot of learning opportunities.

Pros

In-service training, courses very helpful( computer & hands-on). Free nursing day breakfast, staff-discounted thanksgiving lunch/dinner.

Cons

Random assignment to other units

Work Opportunities

Work is work. As long as your willing to do the work and OT, there’s financial security enough to pay the bills. Know your resources and be willing to explore to expand your skills and knowledge. Might be tough working in healthcare but there are colleagues, very few, that makes work worthwhile and fulfilling.

Pros

Work scrubs are provided.

Cons

Toxic work environment.

Great Place to work

Great Place to work. The only downside is the bright lights that give me a headache. Scheduling is online so no annoying phone calls through out the day.

Some great staff and coworkers. Management not so much.

I worked for Vancouver coastal for 35 yrs. Management comes and goes. Many long time management were treated poorly as well as.On a positive note there was much more atonomy for staff nurses to go about their work with out being followed by superiors micromanaging. Senior staff are often treated poorly and many retired early as a result. Working with some fantastic staff made things better.

Pros

Excellent co workers

Cons

Chronic fatigue and turnover. Of staff
