Dishonest company

The management lied about this job being permanently, then they disappeared after election season, leaving everyone unemployed. They did not tell us we were laid off, they lied and claimed technical issues, but never "fixed them" or called anyone back to work. People were losing their homes after the experience. The pay was spotty, many did not get paid bbbbecautththe company did not have enou

A fun place to work

It was a fun place to work but it started getting really slow with hours they started offering. I started off doing about 30 hours a week for 1 month. In my last month of work, I only started getting 8 - 10 hours of work a week. This wasn't only for me but for everyone else who was working there at the time.

Not the best for me personally

Easy job to do, training was fast and simple. But it took a long time for me to get paid, there wasn't good communication between management and employees, and shifts were cancelled a lot.

Unprofessional, and unstable, racist workplace

I worked for this company for 13 months, and the manager's girlfriend was the supervisor. I was told that I had to purchase a pair of headsets for $80 even though our cheques were often underpaid. The management also cancelled shifts last minute, even after I had paid for transit. Don't ever work for this company longer than 6 months. They are also racist. Asians ran the company here in Scarborough, and fired all the caucasian/white people.

Productive and calm workplace

At Validity Research a normal day as a caller would look like this. Coming to work on time and logging in into your computer, go to the briefing room and get briefed. After that happens you then go back to your computer where you are assigned a survey. You get the script you are prepared with and dial the state which we then proceed to start the survey with the people. Sometimes the survey may take 5 minutes, 10-12 minutes, or even 25 minutes depending on the survey we get.

Pros

sitting down all day not moving around too much, you get your own cubicle space.

Cons

Cancelation for your shift could happen any time; the pay would sometimes be short

sucked

This was the worst place I have ever worked at, EVER. Our team leaders were rude to use and yelled at us very often. They sent us home in an aggressive manner if we didn't make enough sales. Everyone was unprofessional. The elevator did not work on weekends and we would have to wait for a team leader to come get us from the lobby floor, which often cut into our shift.

Pros

nothing

Cons

everything

Disability/serious health condition?? Forget this 'job'!!!

This place is only good for the young and healthy and fast-paced people. If you have a disability or serious health condition, forget working here. If you're looking for a stable pay, or to get structure to your life, forget this "job"; It's been 2 months since I last got a shift. • No supervisors/team leads know who is in charge of anything there. • Cancel shifts a lot, or just randomly tell you to go home a lot too. • I never get full pay because my disability slows me down some. Forget "accomodation", they just take all your extra time for bathroom/eating/eye exercises/whatever else breaks u need.. off your salary. • Never get your paycheque correct. Unprofessional and underhanded is the best I can call them. Am I really in a 1st world country...?

Pros

Easy group interview to get job

Cons

Everything else

Productive and comforting workplace with minor flaws.

Validity Research (Call Centre Agent) -Worked as an call centre agent with flexible hours and $14 pay per hour. -Was a very safe and comforting workplace with employers and workers that would be caring and welcoming towards every person or problem. -They follow good guidelines and will suspend anyone who isn't sincere to working that day. Note: During the handing out of my paychecks, I've noticed that I've gotten underpaid each time, which is why I left the job.

Pros

Flexible hours and shifts.

Cons

Didn't manage their staff or salary correctly

Satisfying experience for a first job

Overall, I was satisfied with Validity Research as a first job. A typical day of work involved transmitting calls to a wide range of unique personalities across the world in a attempt to have customers complete a survey. During 8-hour shifts, two 15 minutes breaks and one 30 minute break were offered. Thankfully, I was surrounded by positive and caring co-workers and management that always provided assistance when required. The management was respectful and understanding. For example, if I couldn't make a shift I had signed up for or couldn't attend when required, they would understand my reasoning and allow me to reschedule. The hardest part about the job was having to deal with frustrated customers who at times would voice their anger through the call with inappropriate remarks. Furthermore, at times I would go long hours without having completed a single survey. However, this job taught me about the difficulties about being in a workplace and also a lot about myself. Working here has taught me how to more efficiently work under pressure and communicate effectively with customers and other workers. The most enjoyable part about working here was knowing that I was gaining experience of working in a workplace and doing something positive with my time. Unfortunately, my stay at the workplace was short as university was beginning and I decided to leave the job to ensure my focus was solely on achieving high grades.

Pros

Peaceful working atmosphere

Cons

Hard to get shifts

Work Place Policy

A typical day at work would be collecting in bound calls, briefing with managers and other employees. If you did not meet target goals by a certain hour, you would get sent home by the supervisors, which was really weird. The job it's self had unrealistic expectations when expecting a target for a irrelevant pitch. (Sometimes we would have to call doctors offices during day hours for a survey" UNREALISTIC" expectations, then you get sent home). The work is conditional and based on your time performance, which was never addressed when I first got the job. (Which is totally un -professional). Over all if the company were to keep transparent in the first place about how the just of things worked at the office, maybe the fire and quit rate wouldn't be so high. No Transparency. Not fare to the other employees that didn't get the chance to prove themselves. Nature of the job I guess. Considering the time targets and being sent home, they should put that under their policy.

Pros

You get to choose your schedule.

Cons

You get sent home every time you don't meet the target in a timely manner.

If there was an option for ZERO stars, that's what they deserve

This place will not survive with its current management. They have people coming in and out all the time. They pay minimum wage for jobs that should be paid more and take advantage of their employees. They scrutinize their employees for management faults and treat them like garbage. This company also produces fraudulent work and lies. The truth will eventually be revealed.

Pros

Zero.

Cons

Expected to be available 24hours a day, Terrible and Two-faced management, always having finger pointed at you.

Call Center

I had a great time at the call center because i'm always associating my self with people on the phone and taking surveys based on a variety of topics. I loved working there but i wanted to take my skills to an actual place where i can talk face to face with other customers. The best part of the job is when you find someone really down to earth to do a survey with you because they want to help and not feel forced that's the best feeling. Hardest part of the job is going consistently with out taking breaks. Lastly i had a few friends that worked with me so i enjoyed that the most.

Pros

You can make your own schedule

Cons

they don't give much shifts
