Easy scope of work, lots of free time. The job is not very challenging. Co workers are great to work with and very helpful. Lots of daily travel between schools across the board. Great benefits and pension, but pay is very low

OK Place to Work
They think they are forward thinkers but they lag behind other school boards. They are not very progressive. It takes a long time to become permanent staff.

Upper Grand District School Board is a decent board to work for
I would strongly recommend that any new teacher to the UGDSB get involved with your local teacher union, as those organizations will provide you with excellent professional development at a rate much faster and more appropriate to your needs as a classroom teacher. The Board is very slow to offer training.

Easy to get employed
Good job for extra cash doing supervising. Keep children quiet and safe during lunch and recess. Assist where necessary such a getting dressed to go outdoors, opening lunch item packages, etc.
