The University of Manitoba changes our world for the better. As Manitoba’s largest and only research-intensive university, we are a driving force of innovation, discovery and advancement. Our momentum is propelled by our campus community – the faculty, staff and students whose combined passion and determination become shared possibility. Uniquely strengthened and enriched by Indigenous perspectives, the University of Manitoba is committed to building a better tomorrow, ignited by the work we do together, today.

Our Campuses: The University of Manitoba is located on the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We are home to two main campuses in Winnipeg (Fort Garry and Bannatyne), multiple satellite campuses throughout Manitoba, and conduct transformative research around the world. UM’s impact is global.

Our Community: Our success stems from our 5,200+ faculty and 3,800+ staff and the work we do to make a positive impact on our province, our country and the world. Our teaching, learning and work environment helps prepare our 31,000+ students to become the leaders of tomorrow. More than 2,600 Indigenous students and 6,700 international students share their insight and knowledges here.

Our Research: As a member of the U15, we take our place among the top research universities in Canada. Our researchers explore complex and pressing challenges that impact Indigenous peoples, all Canadians, and all communities around the world, like infectious diseases, Arctic research, climate change, human rights, social justice and sustainability.

We are where imagination and action collide.

Good growth opportunity
Supportive environment, good opportunity to get teaching experience, downside - low pay rate, supportive faculty, opportunity to choose your own schedule

it's okay but
it could be much better. Depends on your Faculty / Department. I experienced a lot of harassment and unfair treatment. Some colleagues felt the same. Wouldn't work there again.

Fun workplace
Nothing to complain about. I worked at Degrees diner. The management is fantastic. Though busy at times, work is fun due to supportive management. Overall a great learning experience working there as a student. You also get tips which makes it even better and the food during your shift is free for you, which is again good money.

Supportive environment
The environment is supportive and have good timeline. There are little opportunities to socialize and develop further. Online training is provided. Can get support if needed. Salary is paid on time. Overall, the work place is comfortable but not secure for long term development.
