Hanging out with other economic TAs was great. Office hours would be routine. Nothing difficult about this job. You need to have good time management to work here.

STANDARDIZED PATIENT TRAINER/PROJECT MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC26 September 2019
It pays well and the benefits are one of the best. But there's poor management, and it's really stressful. You get what you put into it. It's a great opportunity to start out with, but it's tricky to grow.
Pros
Multiple locations you can work in
Cons
Long hours, same pay

Although i was glad to have a summer cleaning job for the summer 2019, there are some downlows during my time there. Let's spill the tea shall we?
Auxiliary Housekeeper (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC15 September 2019
The typical day at work was a lengthy one. I have learnt patience, efficiency and all housekeeping techniques.
Management played favorites most of the time. Workplace culture was half toxic, competitive and gossipy.
Lifting heavy funiture on my own was my least favorite cup of tea.
Going to different locations from time to time helped me to cope with some drama there.

Program Assistant 8, iSchool) (Current Employee) –  1961 E. Mall, Vancouver, BC30 August 2019
It's very busy day to day with students and faculty - this is the best part of the job. I get to learn from everyone, even if that's not my intention. It just happens.
Some cultures in other departments are more challenged in ethics.

One of the worst place to work.
IT Consultant (Current Employee) –  Vancouver, BC2 August 2019
One of the worst place to work. Never Join UBC, Especially IT. UBC IT is one of the places where you can see people doing politics to the core. Most of the permanents are DOS-based old school IT guys. They never updated their knowledge or willingness to learn. If you are a contractor, Never ever think of Joining UBC.
Pros
Closer to Sea and Beaches
Cons
Politics, No Corporate Culture

Driven management team and a great company culture
Customer Service Representative Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Vancouver, BC15 July 2019
The job pays very well, offers a flexible schedule allowing for travel during your time off. Many employees are students as well so it makes for a great company culture and many of the employees are now my good friends. Opportunity for advancement within the company, but not necessarily with your future.
Pros
Company culture, Good hours
Cons
Distance between managers and employees

PROGRAM ASSISTANT (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC15 July 2019
This place has the worse staff working in the Faculty of Medicine. The accounting department gets threatened their job security when they don't comply to their managers. The only thing good at UBC is the wage and the benefits.
