Rewarding place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The hospital is a very busy place any time of day. PHSA manages the work culture with good intentions however often lacks clear communication with regards to changes in policies. There are many opportunities to learn and further career. The best part is knowing you are helping sick children.

Pros

Friendly positive atmosphere, many onsite amenities.

Cons

Communication with staff could be better

.. very disconnected from department to department. Campus is nice but hard to commute and not paid enough to live closer. Management can treat "admin staff" as if they are beneath them.

Administrative Assistant

The University has a great community and support system. Many opportunities to move around between departments. My first experience working directly with the IT department, most enjoyable.

Department of Pathology

Working in the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia was a great experience; I had the opportunity to improved my skills and to interact on daily basis with faculty members, students and laboratory technician; my managers were supportive; the most enjoyable part of my job was the variety of tasks I needed to perform; my co-workers were a nice group of people from different cultures that made the time there a good one.
