I am grateful to have work at Northern Health. It helped me develop my skills necessary to do my job to a highest degree. I work with amazing team and leaders. Great work environment.

Always jobs to do!

I volunteered there for a few months. We filled in for small jobs that staff had no time to do (laundry, clearing dishes, change water jugs for patients) A decently rewarding experience

Volunteer

Fun place to volunteer, you learn a lot. I got the chance to work with some medical students. I appreciate the role of the coordinators, they know what they are doing.

Its a great place to work for someone who wants to get a positive experience and had chance to participate in volunteering, meeting people on every department. For those past month i worked here it feels wonderful. Meeting new friends, learning new things, have access to all part of the hospital. As a food service worker i prepared meals ,washing dishes, stocking, do food safety.😀

A healthy work environment

A good crew to work with as well as approachable and easy-to-talk-to managers. Sometimes communication can lack but otherwise it is a very decent place to work.

Challenging but rewarding

A typical day at work in the Northern Medical Clinic at the UHNBC can very daily in pace, but generally it is goes by fast as you converse with doctors, students and they patients. You are always preparing for the days to come while managing the patient and doctors needs. I would say the best thing about the job is meeting and helping the patients manage their many appointments with a smile. The most difficult would be taking the blame for a mistake that may have been out of your hands. But fixing the mistakes is a rewarding as they can be difficult due to the amount of people taking part. Team work is very important and helping another when they are in need always pays back rewardingly.

Pros

Learning new skills

Cons

lack of training
