Good pay & felxible, messy management
Sales Associate/Cashier (Current Employee) - Uniqlo Fairview Point Claire - 12 May 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorking at Uniqlo is fun at first, although after a while it gets boring. When the store is dead, you're not allowed to talk to coworkers. You will often start overthinking while on the job. Even when you finish all your tasks they will give you more. They have high expectations (that's to be expected from an Asian company) although too strict and impossible which leads to overtime (which can be annoying when you've made plans with your loved ones). Management gets moved often & some will be less lenient, more understanding and more helpful than others. You can only advance if you have a lot of availabilities, has nothing to do with your experience working there.
Pros
Good salary, good coworkers, sometimes flexible, understanding
Cons
Strict, Leads to overthinking, Overtime

Stressful
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 6 June 2023
Extremely micromanaged but you meet great people along the way. The job itself if physically and mentally taxing, you will be exhausted by the end of the day. The managers don’t do anything they sit in their office all day.

Sales Associates (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 12 May 2023
I advise anyone if u want to work in Uniqlo u have to show ur best,u have to adjust ur feeling be more patience to customers, and to ur co-workers.Uniqlo company was such a nice company,U have to work there at long 9 hours standing and a non stop bending, twisting ur body.Good pay and good benefits but there are some obstacle like some leaders are arrogant, rude, they are not willing to help you unless u can ask them what to do,a lot of favoritism, sarcastic co-workers specially if u are new,Manager doesn't know what he is doing always seating at staff room talking and talking without sense. Not professional .
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Standing long hours, not fair to all staff managemnt

Was really stressful
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 8 May 2023
As an employee and sales associate at Uniqlo, I must say that the job can be quite stressful at times. Uniqlo is a fast-paced and busy retail environment, which requires sales associates to be on their feet for long periods of time and constantly interacting with customers.

Learned a lot for many aspects but hard work
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Gimpo - 6 May 2023
It was a nice opportunity for me because I was a fashion school student so I naturally learned about not only the fashion retail industry but about textiles and display and so on. But also, it's strenuous and they gonna take from you as much as possible.

Terrible work/life balance with overworked coworkers
Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Coquitlam - 28 April 2023
Horrible management from the top down that only cares about how much they can overwork you. Competitive retail wages but it comes with ridiculous amounts of stress. Just a toxic environment in general leading to high turnover or extreme apathy from the long term employees who still received a lot of favoritism.
Pros
good wages but bare minimum benefits
Cons
unnecessary stress, toxic culture, favoritism, bad management

A very good place to work at but management is kinda bad
Sale Associate (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 30 March 2023
I have been working at uniqlo for the past almost 2 years and it's a really good company that gives a good decent pay but the work is really stressful and we don't get enough support from the management

Too much favouritism.
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 26 March 2023
To get promoted in the store, you have to be favourite of this person. If the person doesn’t like you for the person’s whatever personal reasons, good luck to you. You wouldn’t get promoted nor even get raises. Be prepared to show up 7am in the morning for store cleaning including bathroom everyday. If you one minute late, that’s late. If it happens more than 5 times, you get warning letter. And they never hire a professional security to save their money, so be prepared to have to face dangerous people and handle situations by yourself. No one to be there to protect you.
Pros
None 30% employee discount including sale
Cons
Limited time offer can not apply to employee discount

Productive workplace
Visual Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 8 March 2023
You have a lot of autonomy when it comes to styling. As long as you know what you're doing, management will let you do your work. Plenty of room for growth and development

Good work environment
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 13 February 2023
Good work environment and good pay. However they have high expectations. Its impossible to reach the standards they are aiming for. Alot of rules that are not necessary and useless

Oui mais….
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Paris - 11 January 2023

Nice and supportive team but hour are long and dragged out
Sales Leader (Former Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 9 January 2023
Overall I feel the people you work with are what makes you want to stay. hours for full time are 9 hours, and for a retail job is quite long and dragged out I feel. you get used to it though. Pay is quite good to I was getting 18.50 p/h which is more than some managers in some stores. super hectic during December and back to school months but after that rush it is quite slow.
Pros
decent pay, kind workplace, good training, supportive team
Cons
long hours, rude customers

Uniqlo is good if you work
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 15 September 2022
Uniqlo is a good company with a lot of good products, we have a good employee discount. The job is hard, sometimes I feel like I need to divide it into two to finish all my tasks. Some managers are good, others have a different approach that I did not like. Overall, I enjoy working there.
Pros
Good salary
Cons
High school environment

Normal retail company
Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Coquitlam, BC - 7 September 2022
Be positive and you will do great. Team mates are nice and the management is great. However, pay is bit low before few advancements. If you like to learn retail it is a good place to start.
