Long hours no work life balancr

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
You are expected to work 9hrs a day if you have a full-time position. sometimes they ask to extend even more hours depending on business needs. Management is extremely strict for just a regular retail job, high expectations for basic pay. This position is great if you are someone who is looking to work lots of hours but if you want a work life balance, this is not a job for you. It is extremely micromanaged and super strict with the policies. For example, even if you are late for two minutes, they will ask you for a picture proof of why you were late. This job asks too much from you and drains all your energy.

Productive workplace

You have a lot of autonomy when it comes to styling. As long as you know what you're doing, management will let you do your work. Plenty of room for growth and development

Good work environment

Good work environment and good pay. However they have high expectations. Its impossible to reach the standards they are aiming for. Alot of rules that are not necessary and useless

Nice and supportive team but hour are long and dragged out

Overall I feel the people you work with are what makes you want to stay. hours for full time are 9 hours, and for a retail job is quite long and dragged out I feel. you get used to it though. Pay is quite good to I was getting 18.50 p/h which is more than some managers in some stores. super hectic during December and back to school months but after that rush it is quite slow.

Pros

decent pay, kind workplace, good training, supportive team

Cons

long hours, rude customers

Pretty decent

Pretty good for a first job in retail management is good but be careful of everything you do they watch you like hawks and be careful of who you talk too and how you talk to them

Uniqlo is good if you work

Uniqlo is a good company with a lot of good products, we have a good employee discount. The job is hard, sometimes I feel like I need to divide it into two to finish all my tasks. Some managers are good, others have a different approach that I did not like. Overall, I enjoy working there.

Pros

Good salary

Cons

High school environment

Normal retail company

Be positive and you will do great.Team mates are nice and the management is great. However, pay is bit low before few advancements. If you like to learn retail it is a good place to start.

Fast paced and stressful

Management was terrible, insanely micromanaged and stressful at times. The employee discount was good and the coworkers were great but overall a tiring place to work at.

Great coworkers, but management needs to improve

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, this might be an opportunity. A typical day consists of an 8-hour work shift (with two 30-minute breaks every 2.5-3hrs), with various tasks assigned to you based on a daily work schedule. Depending on your team, you are still expected to provide the best customer service while working on your designated task on time. As for store operations, every task has a set procedure that all staff must comply with (from replenishing, cash checkout, fitting rooms, etc.). Since the store I worked at is a flagship, the expectations for maintaining standards are even higher from management.

Very demanding workplace

I enjoyed my time at Uniqlo, but it was a very demanding workplace. They would let multiple people go after a month or so. It's a Japanese company, so the Japanese work culture is expected. Looking busy is important, even if it isn't productive. Management expectations are also extremely high. When you start out, you are responsible essentially for restocking items and tidying up, as well as ringing customers through. It's not for everyone, and quite tiring.

no

If you're not ready to do 10 plus hours of overtime than don't take this job. Can't go home until all tasks are finished, including the tasks of the management.

Fun, young, and solid retail job.

Responsive HR if you run into issues, competitive retail pay, and a nice youthful energy. There are basic things store management would need to do but they wouldn't get done because they were subjected to a lot of limitations. Not a lot of room for movement but a nice part-time or in-between job.

Fun working environment

It was a fun working environment. They although expect a lot from you. It did become very stressful when it became busy. You had different tasks each day and not just the same one which is good.

Apply to other place if you don’t want to suffer

Literally not worth your time, also they’re only hiring for full time and doing more work than a regular sales associate .. I don’t get them like they’re so choosy in hiring when they legit need workers!

Pros

Paid 30 mins break; stable hrs

Cons

Mostly everything
