Repetitive
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 2 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWork is repetitive, gets boring after some time if you don’t want to be in retail. The coworkers are nice most of the times, except for some in higher positions they like to power trip and give you weird tasks to do.

Great coworkers, bad managment
Division Leader, Cashier, Sales Floor Leader (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 10 August 2023
Management was a mess, they love to micromanage their employees and the hours are horrid (9 hours a day with one hour unpaid break, sometimes 10 hours). You have no balance between work and your personal life. On top of the long hours, the tasks they give you are quite tiring compared to other retail companies. Upper management in particular is very uptight, they come to visit pretty frequently (usually every week) which puts stress on the leaders who then put stress on the other employees. It's always hot in store and no AC either. The pay is above minimum but I definitely don't think it's worth it for everything they make you do. They do push certain people to promote if they see potential in you. Although there is a lot of favouritism that goes on. The coworkers are great though, it made working there a lot more fun.

Workplace
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 2 February 2022
A typical day at work involves having to do many numbers of tasks, making every shift less enjoyable, while expected outcomes of high standards. The workload when doing store layouts compared to other places is pretty tiring, making you feel overworked for your shifts. However majority of the staff members are very friendly, but favouritism is very obvious in order to advance in this company.
Pros
discount, above min. wage
Cons
strict, favoritism, long hours, multiple tasks

Stressful workplace
Sales Associate (Part-time) (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 24 August 2020
There are many ways to advance in this company, but the favouritism is very obvious and it is makes the workplace less enjoyable. In addition, every shift is very stressful, with a number of tasks given to you all at once, plus having to deal with customers. Not everyone is given appreciation for working hard unless you are close with your coworkers. They have high standards for everything, and that's what makes this job stressful. COVID is an especially difficult period for everyone, and there is little to no consideration and understanding to those who are in emotional distress (like the other reviewer mentioned).
Pros
discount, above min. wage, challenging
Cons
Long hours, demanding, favoritism, strict
