An okay workplace

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The hours are very long and the flexibility of the schedule is nonexistent for the workers. (Almost no personal lifeThough you do get paid more then a starting job, it is a lot more manual labor then what you would expect. The expectation of the company are ridiculous a lot of the time and the customers are extremely rude. A lot of people do not stay for more than 1 year.

Pros

Benefits, good coworkers

Cons

Extremely long hours, many rude customers, unrealistic expectations from head office, not flexible with your personal life

Nice and supportive team but hour are long and dragged out

Overall I feel the people you work with are what makes you want to stay. hours for full time are 9 hours, and for a retail job is quite long and dragged out I feel. you get used to it though. Pay is quite good to I was getting 18.50 p/h which is more than some managers in some stores. super hectic during December and back to school months but after that rush it is quite slow.

Pros

decent pay, kind workplace, good training, supportive team

Cons

long hours, rude customers

Uniqlo is good if you work

Uniqlo is a good company with a lot of good products, we have a good employee discount. The job is hard, sometimes I feel like I need to divide it into two to finish all my tasks. Some managers are good, others have a different approach that I did not like. Overall, I enjoy working there.

Pros

Good salary

Cons

High school environment

uniqlo

- very demanding workplace - very fast-paced - the hardest part would be trying to meet company expectations because it is a very different environment in comparison to other workplaces - trying to replicate a similar workplace culture and environment to their Japanese stores

High opportunity for advancement

The opportunity to advance in the company is better than most with a chance for promotion every few months. It is structured to keep the promotional process fair and to give all employees the opportunity to advance.
