Good company no work/life balance

Fast-paced environment w/ plenty of overtime. You must be focused, intentional, and accurate w/ all that you do. Co-workers are very helpful and typically are willing to coach, offer assistance, or point you in the direction you should go as far as a task or alerting personnel goes. Morale seems to be pretty low though. It could be from being constantly watched in the aisles; or maybe because some feel over-worked. They hire and fire a lot so there are many skeleton crew shifts. The HR department is fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and quick to address any questions I had. Management can be abrasive at times but they were willing to work with me ( take this with a grain of salt as I've spoken to some whose story was much different w/ managers). Seems like there tends to be a breakdown in communication between managers in different departments. There are 2 shifts that majority work neither of which are really good. There is some mandatory overtime and some day(s) during holiday season that may become mandatory. Make sure to consume lots of water and get plenty of rest. If not, you'll get burnt out, or injured, really quickly due to the stress of the workload ( especially during 4th quarter when there is a ton of overtime due to such high volume and number of call outs). Get used to muscle fatigue and soreness.

Pros

Hr lunch, Pay, Benefits, Lots of overtime

Cons

Work/life balance, workplace culture, low morale

Good pay / exhausting work

The pay and benefits are great however they work you like a rented mule. I worked there for 5 years and it is very similar to big government in that they are always introducing new policies and proceedures that make your job more difficult along with policies that are simply preferences of the CEO such as shoe color, covering tattoos, undershirts, and other things that have no impact on the job itself. The irony is that the owner is always speaking out against regulations from state and federal government while doing the exact same thing to her employees. The pay is outstanding but the environment is very stressful.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Work life balance, no breaks, very micro manged

Decent job

ProsThe end of year bonuses are great. 100% vested 401K. The work is consistent which allows an employee to become proficient over time. The most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with the other employees. Frequently provided lunch and various gift cards. ConsMajority of advancement opportunities are sourced from outside the company. Do not take this job with the expectation of being promoted from within. Outside recruits are more moldable, which is why most of the managers are fresh out of college and are generally inexperienced in the workforce. Mandatory overtime. Micro management.

Pros

Bonuses, simple job, well maintained facilities, weekends off

Cons

No advancement opportunities, favoritism, poor leadership, micromanagement
