Its a fun Job
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 21 May 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIts Fun Job for extra money. I wouldnt raise a family with it or anything like that. Lately the gas prices are eating profits. You meet lots of cool people, but you must deal with the rude ones also.

Ok in a bind, don't recommend if you have other work.
Full-Time Driver (Former Employee) - Barrie, ON - 11 May 2022
Good if you're in school with little expenses or something to do when you're bore as a side job. You can't making a living wage doing this when you consider vehicle expenses.
Pros
Freedom for Hours
Cons
Pay is very bad

They are using people
Food Courier (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 5 May 2022
Uber might offer a delivery, let's say $7. You will end up picking up and delivering 2 orders, wich will be $3.50 each and will take more than 30 min. Sometimes resto doesn't have order ready, they will pretend that they don't see you and will ignore you. While you might spend 10-15 minutes to pick it up you might have just drop that order. Management is absolutely terrible, they don't care about employees and will never ever help you in any problems. This is very last resort to work there.

They make it sound like it is a great deal, but it is not
Driver (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 9 February 2022
You can be the best driver, be very profesional and have the best customer service(even rated by customers) but you rarely will make more than 18-19 dollars an hour. They have their hot spots that promise better rates but even if you are around them, it is hard to get anyone with those rates. 95% of the people who use the service will not tip you. You will put a lot of mileage in your car and after expenses like gas, car wash, oil, etc you will be left with not a lot of money. People in uber office(green hub) will tell you it is great to drive for them, the truth is that they have so many drivers in queue that someone will start and get dissapointed and they will have 2 or 3 drivers in line to replace them.
Cons
Long hours and not well paid. Taxi drivers will make your life miserable

A toss up
Uber Eats Driver (Former Employee) - Greater Toronto Area, ON - 3 February 2022
It’s Uber. You either have a good location with a lot of order traffic or not. Otherwise you’ll have no orders, waste gas and time. Uber doesn’t pay their drivers fairly so you have to depend on tips which is unfair to everyone but the company. Seeing as it costs a lot to buy off the app anyways, it makes sense that good tips or just tips in general are few and far between. Most people opt for no contact but if you meet customers during delivery they’re all mostly nice but some people will blame you for things outside of your control ie. traffic, order delays, not hot-out-of-the-oven fresh when delivering to far locations.
Pros
Start and end when you want
Cons
Payout is inconsistent, Low pay per delivery, Rely on tips, Parking for pick up and drop off is sometimes nonexistent, Faster wear and tear on your vehicle.

You are your own boss. Work when ever and how ever long
Driver (Current Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 25 January 2022
I like it for flexibility and can be a great Side gig, wouldn’t recommend anyone for full time job. Driving weekdays can be boring driving through traffic and what not. Not a satisfactory job. I would work recommend work weekends for more money.
Pros
Very flexible
Cons
Can get boring, and you are putting lots of miles on your car

Jobs at Uber
It’s alright if it’s not your main source of income.
Uber Eats Driver (Current Employee) - Montréal, QC - 22 January 2022
The pay should be higher. You get to make your own schedule. You are your own boss. The pay can be low, gotta learn when to turn on the app to generate maximum profits.
Pros
Create your own schedule
Cons
Pay

Depends on location and gas prices
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 17 January 2022
You can make lots of money on your time provided your are in a densely populated location and the gas prices are not high. I met many interesting people from all over the world. Great job if you're ambitious
Pros
Work on your own schedule. Fun. Meet lots of interesting people. Adventurous
Cons
Lots of competition in some areas. Sometimes you don't get enough calls

Not too bad, you work on your own time
Uber Partner (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 7 January 2022
Flexible hours, you work on your own time. No guaranteed salary and no benefits for sure. Basically, you make minimum wage after all the expenses but you're your own boss and you go online/offline whenever you like.

Great work experience, inconsistant pay
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Laval, QC - 21 December 2021
The job itself is fun and the app is well made, but the pay varies too much based on multipliers that Uber can change whenever they feel like it. In my area I can't see the tip until after I completed the deliveries, which can be really annoying sometimes.

Terrible
Driver (Former Employee) - London, ON - 30 November 2021
No security at all could get robbed easily and gas is so expensive that it’s not worth it anymore. Hated doing Uber but had no choice after COVID. You make decent money but have to put a lot of hours in
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Long hours

Stressful and like of confidence
Self-employed (Former Employee) - Ontario - 25 February 2021
They give less than minimum wage their drivers I hope they change that. Drivers buy everything and at the end they go back with less. If they increase the wages many people and families will appreciate
Pros
No
Cons
Yes

Fixable time job, good for making extra money after full time job.
Golden (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 26 January 2021
Good for part time Fixable time job. Good for making extra money after full time job. I can meet all kinds of people. Most of the riders are good. Few of them even though I try my best to provide good service but still getting low rate.

Good Side Hustle
Delivery Courier (Current Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 17 November 2020
Good job hustle, in my opinion. Deliver/drive on busy nights, or else earnings are far more unpredictable. Tips make up most of the earnings, so best to have good customer service. No benefits, no bonuses, unfortunately.

Fast-paced environment with no financial security
Food Courier (Current Employee) - Montréal, QC - 27 June 2020
The restaurants would often not have the food ready when I arrived, so I would have to wait often. Also, the app rarely brought in orders that were nearby, and often I would have to bike long distances to get to the customer afterwards. The time online on the app did not reflect the time paid at all.
