Temporary Helper in Ottawa, ON
on 16 February 2021
Worked as a temporary helper
I enjoyed my time working as helper for a ups driver, learning how to use the portable device to scan the barcode, input the code for each package delivered to the customer's home, picking up some package from customers home in some cases, and I also enjoyed the physical activity when I have good sleep.I walked so much compared to any other job I've done, It a good workout. The hardest part would be the extreme weather and lack of ups uniform given to temporary helper.

Worst place to work ever, really disappointed
They don't provide real training, they don't give you any feedback, you need to use your own phone (and obviously your data) to work, they didn't even provide a map! nobody explains anything, I don't know, that's just a terrible place, some friend told me the same before but I really doubt that UPS could be so bad, and wow, it was worse than what my friend told me!
Delivery Truck Driver in London, ON
on 26 February 2021
Horrible
Brought me on, I did my job and worked my butt off, don't think that being a delivery driver is easy! It's not! UPS layed me off right before 3 months, they will just continue the cycle, good luck becoming one of their lasting employees, if you love being a delivery driver and you can get past the 3month mark you'll eventually make decent money. Management is NOT good, have you standing around for a couple hours not having a clue where to put you because they clearly still think in there old ways and not willing to move forward with the times. Since I've worked other places, specifically contract deliveries, much better. Save yourself some trouble. If your a machine, and ready to get layed off right before you matter be prepared..... I've honestly never seen such disorganization. They load regular drivers with more then they can handle, especially ones they don't like, they play favorites, I'd name names but no point. Just be cautious, be prepared that they are just using you "for the time being"

Poorly educated management staff.
Worked hard during winter season but released without reason before benefits kicked in. Missed one day in almost 3 months and worked harder than long term employees.Don’t recommend.

The BEST place I’ve ever worked at.
Remarkable. It was a pleasure working at the UPS store. Where responsible and respect were necessary. It taught me much, the owner was really very nice. The manager was a bit stuck up because of his post. But I’d recommend anyone to work here.
