QA Tester Intern (Former Employee) – Westwood, MA – 30 October 2014
Since I was only there for three weeks, I can't speak from a lot of experience. This was an internship I had while I was finishing up my last year in high school and it served as my first exposure to the game industry. That being said, the culture and atmosphere created by the friendly employees there were very supportive. Having had no experience at all, they had a well-structured day-to-day plan for me to learn something new everyday and constantly be given new tasks. I was always doing something different to help them push towards the release of a content pack for Dungeons & Dragons Online and was given a lot of time to be able to keep pushing on the tasks they gave me. I was actually more productive than they anticipated and invited me to come back and work with them once I finished college. I hope to one day work for them again because it was such a positive experience for me.
Great culture, supportive employees, friendly atmosphere, well-structured internship
Dark, dimly lit facility (at the time; they've moved to a new, better facility)
Game QA Tester (Former Employee) – Needham, MA – 2 January 2014
Turbine was a great place to be and work. However, they didn't pay enough for me to maintain my sanity. Management was sympathetic but unable to improve the situation. The co-workers were great and always willing to help.
USER INTERFACE ARTIST (Current Employee) – Boston, MA – 8 June 2012
This is one company that says it cares about being the best place to work and, astonishingly, actually means it! They go out of their way to ensure people are happy and have a good, fulfilling work experience. I've never worked anywhere like this before.
