Anticlimatic they eventually hired a bunch of foreigners and let a slew sovereign citizens go!!

What is the best part of working at the company? For the most part everybody would knowledgeable and wouldn't be engaged lesser knowledgeable teammates!!What is the most stressful part about working at the company?More stressful parts of the job and then we had to wait for Chambers to come in and there's nothing else to do in between that time. Then we were required to do like 5S stuff. I believe that 5S was brought in by the Japanese automotive so they wouldn't have to pay for cleaning staff!!What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I think there was an ongoing focus it's a fast track trainings of foreign people into certain positions that would later prove to be full-time position. What is a typical day like for you at the company? On a good day it's fast-paced and busy. On a slow day you get pretty bored quickly!!

Good experience to have

Good experience to have. Typical work. Lack of training. Many opportunities within the organization. Often changed leadership. Global customers. Work-life balabanced.

Great culture, lucky if you are in a good team

A company with well defined culture and guidance in place but not really followed. Management just trying to be looking good. Lack of fairness and integrity from some of higher level management team.

Driven by corporate greed.

The first couple years of my employment was typical, but once Danaher started digging in too much, the environment changed drastically. Micromanaging, trying to produce more with less, hardly ever hiring contract workers. Typically, quarter ends were the busiest, lately, every month is driven like a quarter end and every friday as a month end. They say the customer matters, but when it comes to revenue, they push and force the sites to accept whether ready or not. Bottom line is greed trumps all.

Very poor place to work

Once a great company to work for but now the management has very poor leadership skills. Not a great place to work anymore. No one knows what they are even doing.

Overworked and underpaid

Hardly any vacation. Way overstressed for money. Incompetent leadership for the most part. The only person that is respectable is the production manager

Some really great people work here but I can't imagine for much longer.

I know my review does come across as negative but I have to stress it wasn't all bad during my time at Trojan. For one they're a huge company with many opportunities to learn or change into different roles. My direct manager and team were amazing, truthfully leaving them was the hardest part about quitting my job here. I started there in mid 2020 and it didn't take long to see the questionable decision making by management become apparent. First by hastily moving a part of the business up from the US which upset many of thier major customer base, then worsened by an issue with getting goods across the border. Finger pointing and overpromising and underdelivering by management led to blame being felt/taken by many workers causing more stress and subsequent resignations than I've seen in such a short period of time. Management had training sessions to help with these issues but it ended up just making everyone feel stupid and incompetent. Absolutely horrible feeling. In addition to knee jerk reactions and lack of proper consulting with departments on these issues made everything worse than it already was. I'm shocked a company as big as this can't seem to figure out how to communicate with people better. They need to get back to their roots to realize what made them a great company in the first place because they've really lost their way and they'll keep losing really great people if it continues.

Pros

Good team, big company and interesting product lines.

Cons

Stressful work environment, deteriorating relationships with key clients

Avoid

Now a US affiliate with a demanding, unfair, corporate culture. Under staffed, over worked, dismissive, irresponsible management and HR. All the good staff left over the last few years. No where near the company it was. Poor quality control, unhappy clients, inadequately trained techs and staff. Avoid.

Pros

Used to be a Canadian company

Cons

Every other aspect of the company is a Con.

Used to be a great company

Management has changed often and drastically over the last few years. Trojan used to have an awesome family-like culture but that’s been all but eliminated. Expect long hours, lower end comp and don’t expect your American bosses to care about your values or expectations. Worked there when it was great. Worked there when it was one of the worst places I’ve worked. Just go in with your eyes open. I understand the need for a job but my old job is currently available at Trojan and has been advertise for months and I’d rather be unemployed than go back to it. That might be a useful insight.

Pros

Cheap “ish” lunches in the subsidized cafeteria, some very good people, actually benefits the environment.

Cons

Lack of respect, lower than average income, all American leadership, less respect for workers than many local companies.

Accounts Payable Trojan Finance

Although the work was interesting, great experience, too much office gossip. Only 1/2 hour lunch, while others had many smoke breaks. But free parking

Pros

Interesting projects and worldwide

Cons

Doesn’t always hire contact employees, even though you work for years

Good place to work.

A very good culture to work in. A lot of cross functional projects are available to be part of and these groups are very rewarding. The compensation could be improved to match the regional market.

Great team working environment

I completed a co-op placement at Trojan Technologies. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The team working environment at Trojan is very strong and the employee morale was high. I can't say anything negative about my experience and most of the staff I met had 10+ years there which says a lot for any company.

Pros

fresh hot meals cooked daily in cafeteria

Great R&D period with lots of challenges.

Great team to work with. Learn to listen to customer concerns and work to mitigate those concerns. It was hard but enjoyable to reduce costs, a team approach is the way to go.

Pros

Open schedule

Cons

At time we had very close deadlines

Summary

Trojan Technologies is a great place to develop skills like research in waste-water treatment area. The different topics are really challenging also because you have to deal sometimes with the customers therefore time is essential to produce a professional job. Most of the people are friendly and there is in most of the cases a collaborative environment. The big cons is the difficulty to hire new people.

Pros

Nice environment, friendly people, good place to learn

Cons

short contract job
