Lead Installation Installer (Former Employee) –  Chicago, IL31 January 2018
Full time usually is meant to be 35-40 hours a week. But when week becomes dead, no work no pay, and promises of work for following week are stated, you sit there and wait. But then it repeats for next week and then the next. Out of one year full time employment in one of busy areas of country, I had 14 + weeks of no work and no pay and many weeks with only two days work! That's a yearly 25% less in income! What happened to employers taking care of their employees? When your income stops, your bills don't!
If they don't have steady work, why lie to their employees! If they guaranteed pay for at least 2-3 days a week, you can survive. If you want to take this risk, have your attorney write a contract and get them to sign it. They may also change type of work you are doing and what you were hired for.. Go ahead, refuse it, and your fired!
