Overall a good place but management sucks and HR is terrible
I loved the work there I loved the drive
But advancement is a popularity contest

You can work so hard every day but unless you miss butt and are a rat you are a no one

The shift work is difficult to balance as a single parent and they do not have no remorse to work with you in that even when shifts changed after you started

This company need to learn how to treat people
They say they will hire people with disability but what they don’t tell you if you report an injury due to their defective parts that you report to them and are told to use them anyways and get hurt more your job is done doesn’t matter if you still do your job get your numbers . Even if you are returned to this place by WSIB they will just keep extending your contract till they are off the hook

Run Fast and Hard Away From this Loser Company
Too many management staff that do Nothing. Favouritism is rampant in Company, if you Jiggle, Wiggle and Giggle you get special treatment. Expect too much work from some and not much from others. Pay does not come close to what you do. Don't bother with this company, Oh, maybe if only you need a job right now, but keep looking for something better. Rotating shifts, should be paid shift premium for all shifts as this company expects you to run your life around them.

2 Years of My life wasted
They preach safety first, but they should be saying “parts first!” You are a number here. You don’t matter. The only thing that matters are the parts. They care more about the parts. And that they are okay rather then your cut off finger. They will make you use unsafe equipment. Work life balance? There is no life when you work here. You are mandated every weekend. Stay away for you and your family’s sake

Not a very well run company
Safety first? Only after numbers. No long term fix to problems, just band-aids. Busting your A** and putting yourself in danger only to be paid the same as somebody with a simple, safer job. Too many managers with too much time on their hands, stand and stare with their hands behind their back just to intimidate. They don't listen to your concerns when you have any. Rotating midnights sucks. On a positive note though, other team members are decent people for the most part; depending on the job you do you can learn a lot and pass the shift fairly well, though other jobs are monotonous and tedious. You may take your job seriously at first, though after a while you will view the place as a TV sitcom

Always on the go
You’re always on the move, if you’re job is complete you’d help others out if not put back in rework. There’s always work to be done in rework and you’d work as a team with others

Not a bad place
It’s not a bad place just the management with what they tell you then what they do is not as fair as I’d like to say I worked there 5 months they were supposed to put me up to 20 from 18 after 3 if I had perfect attendance and work meant the numbers it would be good and I just got fed up with the run around excuses when I had asked they just gave excuses

Job is good, management sucks
If you like shift work it's a good place to work, other then HR is the worst to their people, never go to them with a problem, rotating all 3 shifts is very hard and they don't care,

Management is incompetant and Environment is stressful
It does not matter if you're full time or part time they can and probably will fire you for any reason. Coworkers are friendly but management , tl's and gl's can be very discriminating, as well they show a lot of favouritism. The work environment is fast paced and constant so your day will go by fast but IS VERY STRESSFULL. HR does not i repeat , does not care about you as an individual unless you are in their inner circle. At this factory you do not recieve any yearly bonus as any other factory would give you. They do not promote the hardworkers here, only ones they approve of. If you're a hard worker and want to be treated fairly don't
work here. I personally worked there for years, and the place caused more drama then high school.

Turn your brain off, and blinders on.
Working at Toyotetsu Canada has been a rollercoaster. I'm talking Canadian Minebuster deal of a rollercoaster. Learning about the different functions of parts, learning about the processes and the different departments has been an awesome experience. However, a sexist environment, followed by a poorly selected managerial staff, became a deal breaker for me. Not to mention 6 months of waiting for Full Time.

Massive turnover rate
I work here now, and the turnover rate is crazy!! People quit or get fired, but then call back people they have fire.As if they acknowledge the made the mistake in firing you!!
They use a algorithm to hire, this is put in place by the new head of HR, algorithms programs have been proven not to work in the hiring process and and in fact result in the lost of good workers..

This place does not pay enough...

Terrible and illegal
Lots of heavy lifting , they have you doing a 2 person job with one person and if you follow the standards of the company by how much parts they tell you to lift , you can’t keep up, it’s impossible. The only way you can keep up is if you lift a crazy heavy amount of parts and by the end of the day your body is screwed up, this place should have the labour board called on them it is a brutal place to work DO NOT GO HERE

Worst place I have ever worked.
Worked there almost 2 years and found a new job. It is basically like working in a giant grade 9 class. HR was nice but didnt do anything with raised concerns. Top management was nice. Middle management is horrible, they have a shut up and do what you are told attitude and are for the most part wanna be cops. Rules and discipline are solely based on who you are. They are never satisfied and dont even noticeif you work hard or not. You have no time to have a life and most times are too worn out to do anything anyhow. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THE BUZZER AT THE END OF SHIFT. Save yourself the headache and find a different job.
Pros
The day ends...
Cons
High school should end after grade 12 not continue for life....

Consistent work environment with stable job security and room for advancement
A typical day at Toyotetsu can be fairly steady and persistent in any role that you may be placed in. The work itself is not overly hard but you will be tired by the end of the day. I learned that factory work can be sometimes very repeatative but hopefully your supervisor will allow you to change up your particular role within your department throughout the day. The most enjoyable part of the day would be the second half of the day, after lunch because you know you are about to go home with another day behind you!

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I was in stamping and everyone I met was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my time working here. The shift work is a little tough but if your used to it then you'll be fine.

Great people but terrible management
Lack of communication makes management completely out of touch with the people on the floor. If you want to advance its more beneficial to make friends than be good at your job. other than that Toyota factories are generally clean, productive and easy to work at.

Not recommended for a family man
The management has a hard time grasping what it's like on the plant floor. They are quick to dictate and mandate when they feel fit.
Not recommended for a person who enjoys spending time with their family.

They do not allow employees to advance often. And when they do management's choices are more then questionable.

An employer with a great work ethic will be regularly overlooked. And will receive no reward for their hard efforts. They will always make the same amount as someone who never tries.

They chant safety first but a few of management's decisions to put production before employees safety, have led employees to the hospital
