Lots of incentive programs
Manufacturing (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 28 April 2021
Featured review
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada selected this as a representative reviewShift work expected plus overtime. Very competitive wages. Great benefits. Has gym facility for their employees. Awesome bonus program with extra bonus incentives. Opportunity for advancement as well as incentives to further education. Management always get back to you about your concerns and grievances. Good communication and paid time for them.
Pros
Wages, security, benefits

productive and team oriented
Team Member (Former Employee) - Woodstock, ON - 23 September 2023
everyone works together to get the job done, if you ask for help, they're there to help, and the people are nice when you're new, but also easy to get along with.

Conveyance (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 17 September 2023
You’re watched lived on camera (which is not allowed), your targeted if you stand up for yourself when you are treated poorly, poor pay, hours leave no room for having a home life, favouritism is high and morale is low due to terrible superiors and management. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend even to my worst enemy.
Pros
Fun coworkers
Cons
Shift work, terrible pay, terrible management, favouritism

Ok compensation.. WLB is terrible though
TEMA Engineering Intern (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 16 September 2023
You will be pressured to do overtime, but at least you are compensated. The job itself is kinda bad.. a lot of grunt work as an intern. TEMA is treated better than the interns on the floor but it still is not very glamorous. No real engineering is done aside from looking at random parts on CATIA, but it still looks good on a resume.

Fine place to work. Avoid new Mgrs.
Lexus Toyota Team Member / Assembler (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 15 September 2023
Many of Toyota's best / most devoted team members have retired in the last couple of years, so it is now a good time to apply for those that want good pay. Just a heads up, Toy. Management is a (white) old-boy's club. So new employee's of diversity may find it very difficult to enter this exclusive club. More new employees need to speak up and not accept this status quo. It is a good employer for those starting a family and buying a condo or home. New employee's should be aware some Mgr's are very confrontational and unapproachable. This does creates a lot of chaos and doubt about job security, but I suggest staying positive and avoiding these bad actors. Toyota is a good first step / job. A stepping stone on ones journey to a more rewarding future career!
Pros
free burger at summer bbq
Cons
New Mgrs trained??

Its a manufacturing job
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 3 September 2023
Can be tough on rotating shifts, mandatory overtime doesn't help. It is a manufacturing job so it will get very repetitive, you will be sore and will not receive a lot of time off before becoming permanent (about 3 years). I do not recommend working for this company.

Cleanest plant I’ve ever seen.
Production Team Member (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 28 August 2023
I was placed in the press shop and I honestly loved it there. Most of the guys were solid and my team leaders were as well. Unfortunately I had to bounce around shift to shift as I was the new guy and that’s how I ended up having some issues with my sleep. I could see how for some people this wouldn’t be a good fit but in a perfect world I wouldn’t have had those issues and built a career there.

I wouldn't if I were you.
Production Worker (Current Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 24 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The best part of working at TMMC is going home. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Run like the wind from this place if you want to enjoy life. This place will take your very last breath if given the chance. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Super toxic environment. Group leaders don't care about anything but themselves and their advancement. They use and then discard you. HR here is not but an illusion. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Exhausting. Work/break ratio.....jokes.

Jobs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
No work/life balance. Promotions are based on favoritism and nepotism
Manufacturing Engineering Specialist (Former Employee) - Woodstock, ON - 24 August 2023
Good for new engineers to accumulate hands on experience fast. Low base salaries and especially for experienced engineers. Too much daily overtime required to complete all job tasks. Too much weekend work. Management expects and encourages no life outside work. Meanwhile, annual raises always below inflation rate.
Cons
Too much overtime and weekend work expected and required to achieve targets

would not recommend
Production Associate (Former Employee) - Woodstock, ON - 22 August 2023
I wouldn't recommend this job. Toxic culture amongst employees and management. 48 hour work weeks and awful shifts. Little option for movement within the company. I spent over a decade on the same line without the ability to post to a different area. Awful treatment of employees would not recommend
Pros
decent pay, good vacation
Cons
shift work, mandatory overtime, toxic culture

No work-life balance, management treats you awful, everyone is miserable and waiting for retirement
Team Member (Former Employee) - Brantford, ON - 19 August 2023
When the bell rings you work, and you don’t stop. If you love to ask to go to the bathroom and love to never have time to drink water then Toyota is for you. If you love management pushing the boundaries as much as they can and stepping all over you, well then Toyota is for you. If you love long hours of repetitive work and forced overtime, never seeing your family… well then Toyota is for you. Hardest part of the job was the long hours and shift work, also being in a contract for 3 plus years is horrid as well, best part was pay day.
Pros
Pay, and sometimes the people you work with
Cons
Long hours, forced overtime, bad management.

Great place to work, if you don’t like your family
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Woodstock, ON - 14 August 2023
6:45am-3:45pm day shift - 5:45pm-4:15am. Switch every 2 weeks. Feel like a zombie, always!! Don’t see your family for 2 weeks a month, sounds awesome?
Pros
Good holidays once you’ve been full time for 10+ years
Cons
Horrible managers. Terrible work/life balance. High stress.

No work life balance
Team Member (Current Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 13 August 2023
You will work 48 hour weeks and low pay. $24 to start even though team members used to start at $27. Super toxic, old boys club, 3 years until permanent. No room for advancement for many years and even if you become a team leader it is only $2 more an hour. If you can find other work I would.

Tough work environment, great job if you don't mind repetitive factory work.
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Woodstock, ON - 5 August 2023
Hard work, but the pay and benefits are great, not for everyone. I've been at TMMC for 11 years. It really is a good place to work. I'm able to provide a good life for my family.

Good pay but alternating shifts
Quality Assurance Specialist (Current Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 4 August 2023
Hardest part is the alternating shifts, takes a toll on your health. Pay is good. No union here. They generally so the same contract as the big 3 auto manufacturers in US

Not for family life
Team Member (Current Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 1 August 2023
Rotating shifts 2 weeks days 2 weeks nights does not support family life. Decent pay, benefits and vacation time, but not worth the 3 year contract and lack of work/life balance.

Good money, but is not for everyone
Production Worker (Current Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 27 July 2023
The company offers great benefits and money per hour that very little companies would offer to a job you can easily access to (because let's be honest, production worker isn't a very difficult job). That being said, you have to put yourself in the mentality of doing repetitive work for long hours, working weekends and rotating shifts. If you can endure that, then this is the company for you (job hardening is real, and after a few weeks you will do your assigned jobs seamlessly).

Nice place but like high school
Contract Team Member (Former Employee) - Cambridge, ON - 26 July 2023
I worked in two departments and had a similar experience. Your break rooms are like high school. Otherwise the job is great aside from the forced day/night rotation. As a contract you have no alternative or accommodation.
