Summer Camp Supervisor (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 19 June 2017
A typical day involves working with campers doing crafts, playing games, baking, etc. I learned how to effectively manage time, multi-task, and make day plans for children. The hardest part of the job is the lengthy amount of training. Everything about the job is enjoyable, the kids make everything worthwhile.
Hard working, fun, motivated people working to help the community
City Worker- Parks Operations (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 15 December 2016
Working for the town of Richmond Hill has been an incredible experience. All workers, regardless of their rank, consistently get along and friendships are forged along the way. The work can be physically demanding, but having so many people to enjoy the day with makes that okay.
very poor management decisions in past several years. Distinct lines of pyramid authority with no crossing of lines, communication allowed
Manager (Former Employee) – Head Office – 4 November 2016
Good pay and benefits for full time employees. Numerous terminations by Management of full time staff over past several years. Termination agreement's don't allow for any detailed disclosure of the hidden secret Management operations over the years withheld from the public.
Registration Clerk (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 13 September 2016
The Town of Richmond Hill, is quite the entertaining work environment. Unlike most jobs, the day to day agenda varies. It was stressed by management that customers were a priority and efficient and appropriate customer service was the key to success.
Facility Attendant (Former Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 1 September 2016
Job as the facility attendant is not difficult. A typical day at work would be to open up specific community centres and set up for swimming classes and other activities. The hardest part of the job is when following specific steps everyday and making sure everything is operating as usual.
Job is great, flexible, ability to talk to patrons
FACILITY OPERATOR (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 3 June 2016
Main task is to ensure community center runs smoothly. Mostly cooped up in a room, but able to move around freely. Being able to interact with customers and other members of the community is a great plus and passes time quickly. Fast-paced, and tight schedules require great organizational ability.
Lifeguard and Swim Instructor (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 1 November 2015
I do many thinks at the pool, the to main and obvious things I do are to prevent accidents/treat them, and to teach children, adults, toddlers how to be comfortable in the water and how to swim. On a Regular Lifeguard shift, we would always arrive 20min early to prepare for the swim to take place, same goes for instructionals. Everyone treats each other as an equal and is it very fun working in the atmosphere the pool provides. The most difficult part of the job has to be the communication and patience with smaller children and there ability to swim. Some kids are more difficult to deal with than others but at the very end of the day, they are learning new things and are being motivated to be active. Management is amazing, very easy to talk to and if we have any concerns, they take the right actions and ensure that it will meet up to the persons expectation.
