Very clique-ish workplace

The most useful review selected by IndeedProbably a great place to work if you fit in immediately. However, if you are not on board with your specific departments culture right away, it can be very hard to advance. It is a very political environment, with some councilors and staff treated very differently than others based on community viewpoints. Management can be inconsistent with requests and quick to anger. Change is resisted quite a bit at higher levels.

Fun workplace with children
Camp Counselor (Former Employee) - Caledon, ON - 27 March 2013
A typical day would start in the morning (either 7:30-4, 8-5 or 9-6 shifts) Arrive early to set up various puzzle activities, quiet games in the morning. When all the children would arrive we would do morning circle, the sometimes split off into groups (by age) and do various activities outside and inside.(a sport, then a craft)Played lots of different games and activities during the day, went swimming on Wednesdays and field trips on Thursdays.I learned to organize structural games, supervise children, and make boring activities fun!Co-workers were all very helpful and friendly for the most part.The hardest part of the job was the long hours, especially the 9-6 shift. Being on your feet for 9 hours, running and swimming with kids is very tiring.The most enjoyable part was having fun and playing games with the children.
