A typical day would start in the morning (either 7:30-4, 8-5 or 9-6 shifts) Arrive early to set up various puzzle activities, quiet games in the morning. When all the children would arrive we would do morning circle, the sometimes split off into groups (by age) and do various activities outside and inside.(a sport, then a craft) Played lots of different games and activities during the day, went swimming on Wednesdays and field trips on Thursdays.
I learned to organize structural games, supervise children, and make boring activities fun!
Co-workers were all very helpful and friendly for the most part.
The hardest part of the job was the long hours, especially the 9-6 shift. Being on your feet for 9 hours, running and swimming with kids is very tiring.
The most enjoyable part was having fun and playing games with the children.
