Inside sales/Counter Associate (Former Employee) – Oakville, ON – 24 May 2018
Torbram is a large Canada wide company that has the ability to offer value added process for the customer. The ability to move product from one store to another allows the customer access to inventory that no other electrical distributor can offer.
Sales driven with no mission and fragmented employee culture.
Store Manager (Current Employee) – Newmarket, ON – 18 October 2017
Torbram Electric Supply is a great starter company for anyone interested in getting into the sales aspect of electrical. They are willing to train you on products that they will be asking you to stock.
Sales Person & Warehouse Helper (Former Employee) – Brampton, ON – 5 September 2017
It was a nice and friendly experience, the employees treat me nicely and like one of their own. I learned a lot about what they do and the trade in general and how many different parts there are in the electrical trade.
Account Manager for TES (Former Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 24 March 2017
A learning experience, that taught me there are better places to work. The reason why I feel this way is because they preach about not being a company that micro-manages their employees, but were dishonest about this fact. The pay structure is one of the lowest salaries in this field, to which I now know this reason.
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 12 February 2017
Torbram Electric Supply is a decent environment to work at. Different positions require different and more responsibilities as any other job. Being a driver is an average position. Enjoyable to drive around the Lower Mainland in beautiful cities. Familiarizing common roads and highways will become second nature to one. Delays in delivery and pickups due to traffic and weather conditions is expected. Having to lift heavy items is a daily routine. Dealing with good and friendly coworkers is a plus. Product knowledge is an asset prior to inside sales, but not mandatory. Management often neglects employees and focuses more on the customer service. Good money for someone with no or little bills to pay. However, not an ideal amount pay for someone living on their own. Hard to move up in the company, and when one does... it's still expected to not have the greatest of pays. Workload and responsibilities is not worth the pay this company has to offer, including overtime pay.
Inside Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Abbotsford, BC – 11 October 2016
You are expected to do everything, all the time, and all for nothing. Low pay, high stress, high demand, and lack of professional growth. Advancement within this company has nothing to do with experience. Its a simple matter of how long you have been with Torbram, and who you are best pals with in management. This is a dead end job in my opinion and I would never work here again even if my wage had been doubled...
There was just no mental challenge or professional growth.
Company Driver (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 13 September 2016
Always a full day of deliveries, and always on the go. Managers and coworkers are all great to work with and make the job very enjoyable. Nothing is overly difficult but emergency rush orders can really throw your day an unexpected curve ball. The best part of the job is being on the road as well as interacting with customers.
Account Manager (Former Employee) – Richmond, BC – 23 July 2016
Completely mismanaged, unprofessional at the Richmond, BC office. Voiced concerns to General Manager and requested a transfer. They took his side. In the exiting interview, I expressed my feelings of his management skills (or lack of) professionally.this was a case of misrepresentation of the position and wrongful dismissal.
