Exhausting
ECE (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 25 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood place to work in but exhausting at the end of the day especially since we only have 30 min break for 8 hrs shift. Supportive staff members but too strict management.

Jobs at Tiny Hoppers Early Learning Centre
A frustrating work environment
ECE Teacher (Current Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 11 July 2023
Couldn't find any Pros: Working 8 hours and 15 mins with only a half-hour break is unacceptable, some employees work 8.5 hours or even 9 hours with a 45 mins lunch break; Deafening relaxing music prevents children from napping and can even drown out cries; Always using negative punishment instead of positive guidance to children; Poor outdoor play area; Activities' photos are superficial.

Very clique oriented environment
RECE (Former Employee) - Barrie, ON - 24 June 2023
A good place for those who want work short term, however it’s very gossip oriented, favouritism is a huge contributor to success. The meetings leave your soul crushed as they glaze over the improvements/successes and focus on any points where you’ve fallen short. The toys are -400 level boring and half of them are broken, leading to underwhelmed wandering children. Suggestions you make will take 80-100 business days to be dealt with, and specifically faster if you’re a favourite. Keep your head down and this job will suit you fine
Pros
The children
Cons
Gossip, favouritism, meetings, stressful to the point of tears for many

Great place
Early Childhood Educator (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 28 May 2023
It is one of the cutest and more organized daycares I have seen. Great director and owners. As demanding as a daycare is. Most teachers are friendly ans supportive.

Pure chaos and disorganized
Daycare Assistant (Former Employee) - 829 big bay point - 2 April 2023
If you are thinking about applying here run just save yourself aggravation and don’t!. They have hardly any room to take your lunchbreak if they remember to give you one. High staff turnover
Pros
Once in awhile the owners brought us coffee
Cons
Long hours. Gossip

A family like environment for both the staff and children.
Director of Childcare (Current Employee) - 525 Brooker Ridge Newmarket ON - 3 February 2023
All staff are qualified and experienced. Everyone works with their own age group and Classroom. Teachers are very supportive off each other. The owner is there hands on to help out with any issues or concerns right away.
Pros
Accrued Vacation time.
Cons
Long hours (7-4pm) /(9-6pm)

Terrible management
Teacher (Former Employee) - Lisgar, ON - 2 February 2023
It’s extremely toxic, management only cares about making money, the place is a joke looks so high and mighty from the outside but is absolutely toxic and a terrible work environment

Soul-sucking place
Toddler Teacher (Former Employee) - Etobicoke parklawn - 17 November 2022
When i first got hired i really enjoyed the management. However, i found there was moments she was unprofessional. I decided to leave while we were having a high turnover. The owners a husband was not happy about that. He proceeded to come into the classroom during nap time while i was working to yell at me in front of children and staff. I left upset. When i came back to finish my shift, the owner never apologized instead i was gaslit the entire last few days of my shift. I also had a hard time contacting HR about the incident. Worst place to work. They only care about the income and not their staff.

horrible
Early Childhood Educator (Former Employee) - Etobicoke - Park Lawn - 7 September 2022
Avoid at all costs! Doesn't follow ratio, this place will make you hate childcare. Benefits suck, employees pay 70% of benefits and they only pay 30% and it comes out of your already little paycheck
Pros
none
Cons
little pay, cheap owners, HIGH turnover rate

Fulfilling and Fun Workplace
Housekeeper/ supply staff (Former Employee) - Milton, ON - 16 June 2022
The teamwork the staff has is incredible, it was organized, fun and I met amazing people that made coming to work something to look forward to each morning. Working with the children and watching them learn and grow was the most fulfilling feeling I’ve had in a job. I would definitely recommend joining their team!

Not that fun
Not sure, i was head teacher, or rece (Former Employee) - Orleans, ON - 10 June 2022
Depending on location, but the educators are not getting paid enough for the work they do. Lots of expectations. And can fire you anytime they want. Was working 9 hours and was getting only 30 minutes break, was expected to get 10 to 15 minutes before shift for free and was staying about 10-15 minutes after closing for end of day cleaning tasks.

Nice to work here
Early Childhood Educator (Current Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 17 May 2022
Good place to work temporarily. Not enough to reach life financial goal. The colleagues are good and collaborates effectively. The families share good relationship with the staff.

Assistant Supervisor (Current Employee) - London, ON - 1 April 2022
Love it at London Tiny Hoppers. Pay isn’t the greatest but that’s not Tiny hoppers fault it’s the governments. The management is great and there are benefits for dental and vision as well

Worst place to work at. Over worked with little pay and always in a stressed environment. Lack of communication and no appreciation towards staff.
RECE (Former Employee) - Etobicoke, ON - 24 March 2022
Have better and FAIR!!! salaries and less talking down to people. Use communication especially in regards to major changes within the centre. Overworking staff for 16 dollars is UNACCEPTABLE!
