Reviews about Pay & benefits for Front of House Team Member at Tim Hortons

Just don't.

For $14/h, there are many better places worth your time. Don't just be another worker that bleeds out until you can't take it anymore. Go elsewhere. I don't want to go into detail what went wrong with this particular location, but suffice to say that if you're going to be paid minimum wage, you can put in as much or as little effort as you choose, you'll still be treated the same. Considering Tim Horton's offers barely any incentive to work there for minimum wage, on top of doing nothing to retain employees, on top of continuous removals or perks or freedoms, it's clear that the owner would rather waste money training new people every week or so than retain and support the skilled staff the stay around too long. No one with anything to offer the world is going to want to stay here for anything longer than the time it takes to find a $14 an hour job that isn't awful. Why would you want to work for an owner you can't respect? Don't.

Poor management but decent benefits

Very poor management which leads the company to be super understaffed. Which leads to workers who needs breaks can’t really take breaks even though by law we are required a 30 minute break if you work over 6 hours. Once you ask for a break they seem to have a hissy fit over it. If you ask for 40 hours a week they expect you to do 8 hr shifts or more everyday of the week which puts you at doing overtime and never have time for other things such as family, friends, etc. If you aren’t schedule on a day it seems like they pressure you to come into work as well and if you decline to come in they seemed to get upset by it. The pay is kinda bad with everything you do at this job. I know jobs that pay $12/$13 a hour while you are getting paid $10 a hour and they do the very same stuff as you and is similar to this company.

Pros

Free food, half off discounts

Cons

Doesn’t like breaks, poor management, low pay
