Don’t bully or insult your employee's, respect them and what they do for your store. If you don’t give them the respect they won’t give you respect, and will end up leaving and will leave a horrible referral to other people about the company.
Treat front line staff with respect and offer guidance. Many people leave because the DM is rude, demeaning and overall stresses everyone out. I have seen many staff in my year break down in tears and quit because of the DM solely.
Acting like their employees are human people would be a good start. Incentives to push yourself, rather than negitive reinforcement. Rewarding people for loyalty. 15 minute breaks would help.
Try appreciating your employees...It goes a long way.
