Don't waste your time.
Esthetician (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON16 October 2018
Management is terrible, franchise partners are even worse. The entire company tries to lead on this fun and exciting place to work, when in fact it is all about making money. They will work you to the bone and expect 100%, and only give back 50% I would never recommend this place to anyone. You have to follow certain protocols and you are absolutely not allowed to go against them leaving very little room to be creative, which is how estheticians should be. I believe they were likely a great place to work at some point, but with their mission to be "the best beauty bar in the world" they developed large egos and lost the point of why they were doing this. Move along here, there are plenty of other spa's to work at that will give you more freedom to be unique. You are just apart of their big assembly line.

Do not work for Montreal company
Guest coordinator (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC30 August 2018
This was by far the worst job I’ve ever done. Staff was petty and management sloppy. The franchise owner in Montreal was a complete sleeze-ball and very manipulative. Didn’t care about anyone except his daughters and making money. Could have been a great brand to have here but it’s run by the wrong type of people. Very disappointed in the outcome. Very disappointed that I wasted a year there trying to grow when that was obviously not possible.

Discounted services

not worth it
Esthetician (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON23 July 2018
I worked at the Yonge and Eglinton location on a seasonal contract. the same few people received awards and special recognition. you could say the manager maintained a clique of people who whom she shamelessly played favourites. tips were not the best; immaculate procedures were expected in an un realistic amount of time. the girls were catty. in short, not worth it at all.

West Kelowna - Guest Coordinator (Former Employee) –  West Kelowna, BC8 April 2018
Everyone there is super accepting and becomes one big family! You will learn front desk things, phone etiquette and problem solving. How to open and close the store and floating the till. You dont have a chair up at the front so you are standing the whole shift.
Pros
Discounted spa services!!

If it's sounds too good....
Esthetician (Former Employee) –  Leaside, ON26 February 2018
Company doesn't appreciate their employees and they don't treat them good. Side note, plus they are really cheep. Don't expect yearly salary rise. I worked for company 4+ years and I don't have anything good to say about them. No flexible hours, no competitive hourly pay (everyone gets minimum), The best advice I could give is to run..

Honestly, you might as well work any other minimum wage job
Guest Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON24 February 2018
When working for a franchise location, approach with caution.
They claim to offer competitive salaries but unless you consider minimum wage to be "competitive", that statement is false. They also claim to reward outstanding guest care... also false. You can crush every sales goal, and guest care feedback survey, and the most you can expect is a pat on the head and a "good job"...although they have no problem laying on the pressure to meet certain targets. Overall negative work environment. Last minute shift cancelations, questionable contracts, and intimidation in response to concern or criticism is to be expected.

In the spirit of generosity, some of the good include awesome colleagues, and they often look for models to train on so it's easy to get a free service done here and there. You also have a 50/50 shot at being assigned to a good manager.

To be honest, I'd recommend working any other minimum wage job. You'd make the same low pay, but save yourself the headache.

Solid place to work for. Worked at the original location while all the kinks were still being worked out. Great staff morale and experienced senior estheticians that were great mentors.

Great place to meet new friends and coworkers, stepping stone to other job oppertunities.
Senior Esthetician (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON26 August 2016
Typical day at work includes performing quick spa services including manicure and pedicure mostly and brazilians. They expect 100% with minimal time in doing so. There is no room for growth in this company no matter how hard you work or try. The black out periods are ALL Summer and ALL December. I would not suggest working here long term I would suggest getting the training and leaving ASAP.
Pros
Great coworkers and

Too many to list

Esthetic Expert (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON22 August 2014
Its a great place to work if you're young and don't have a family ie any kids. It has taught me how to manage my time efficiently and it has taught me valuable customer service skills. The girls working there are like a second family. The hardest part of the job is working weekends and the most enjoyable part is great discounts on beauty products

very busy, but good tips and flexible shifts
Esthetic Expert (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 September 2012
If you are extremely passionate about esthetics, then The Ten Spot is a great place to hone your skills and acquire new ones. It is very busy, often hectic and exhausting, shifts are 8 hours and usually 40 hours a week. The gratuities are good, but the base wage is lower than most other spas.
Overall I would recommend the Ten Spot for part time employment because it does get very stressful and tiring.
Pros

Cons
long hours, low base wages
