Easy to make a great income with the right drive
Manager (Former Employee) –  Airdrie, AB26 February 2019
The amount of money you take home is based on your work ethic. If you can upsell, you can make as much as you put your mind to. Advancing is very achievable if you have the right mindset. Product knowledge is key, and identifying what each customer needs by asking questions. I loved the idea of this business, the layout of the commission, and the opportunities available. Unfortunately, not the best management sometimes, but every store is different. Plus, if you work hard enough, maybe you will become the next manager.
Pros
Great hours, commission, advancement, spiffs, management training.

Good company
Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Winnipeg, MB19 February 2019
I like how you can get rich selling but if it's slow season, you have to grind just to get alot of customers with less people showing up to your store and if you dont meet their target, the company says goodbye even if there's not much customers to sell products to and your only getting paid minimum by the end of paydays until busy season hits like August till Christmas. then you have to find another job and come back again to get that money again.
Pros
Career advancement, Great incentives
Cons
Only suitable for people who like to depend on customers to get money

Establishing a relationship with the local clientele and being motivated to meet their needs is a must. Earning potential here is directly related the effort you put forth, as well as having a deep knowledge of current trends and promotions.

Key Holder/Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  London, ON23 January 2019
The Source is great if you're good at sales and looking to make more than minimum wage at an entry level position! We get paid commission on top of minimum wage which rocks, but the targets are pretty intense. Management is okay at most stores.

Great work environment, friendly staff and management. Hour rate is minimum wage plus commission. Commission is earned by selling cell phones and tv packages. Not hard to sell but no growth inside the company
Pros
Commission
Cons
No growth

Awesome with the right team
Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Collingwood, ON30 December 2018
I have nothing really ill to say, however it could be because the team I have is a great group of people, and my manager is awesome. The only other times I've heard bad things, is because of bad management - which can be tough to rid of unless they constantly underperform or mess up bad in regards to HR stuff.

The pay is alright for what you do, could be better from how much you're pushed to hit certain targets though.
Benefits are nice. However standing for extended periods of time on hard floor is brutal on the legs and back, especially since the cash counters too short, would be far more productive/engaging if there was at least a stool to ease the pain on the legs for when you're working on a phone or home services with a customer.. And since that stuff can take time, customers would be less impatient if there were seating for them too!
Pros
Benefits, can be easy with the right team, discounted services, etc.
Cons
Targets, can be a bad time if there's horrible management

Worst job ever!!!
Part-time Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON14 December 2018
Get ready to be a part time associate working up to 40 hours with no benefits and no option to ever become full time to receive any benefits. They will bleed you dry. Minimum wage pay is not worth being micromanaged and humiliated if you don’t sell a bell service for one shift. The pressure is unreal you practically have to harass customers as soon as they enter because the manager will be watching to make sure you talk about bell services. They will schedule you when is convenient for the business. They will schedule part timers up to 40 hours each week, but will just cut your hours without warning since your only part time. I have worked a lot of retail, but I have never experienced a company quite as awful as The Source. I’d say do it make a ton of money than move on before you.
Pros
Commission
Cons
No benefits, Very few FT positions

Great place to learn and communicate. Few drawbacks
Customer Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Surrey, BC14 December 2018
The Source is a great place to work. Great culture, nice commission frame. However, my experience was particularly bad due to 1 employee. I wouldn't go for any names, however, but when a nit picky old employee has been with the company for several years, it is time to shorten the grass. If you'd like to know where: The Source @ White Rock. No complaints on anything, all other employees were understanding and great. Store manager was welcoming as well.

The Source @ White Rock
Pros
Great atmosphere, culture.
Cons
Old nit picky employee

Brutal company
Manager (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON12 December 2018
Awful culture and very high pressure to sell bell services. District managers do not support store managers. Stores are under staffed so you end up working long hours or doing way more work than you are compensated for. The company is so short on employees they have store managers running more than one store. Pay is average. Commission is great but you have to be willing to get pretty greasy and convince customers your giving them a “good deal” on Bell services. If your in a management role they can move you to any store in the district without your consent. Human Resources is a joke and provides zero support to employees. Don’t waste your time here. I wish I didn’t either.
Cons
Unethical

Poor Manager and Poor Culture of this company
Sales Associate (Wireless Product) (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON19 September 2018
Pros
you can get commission for everything you sell

Cons
The company's aiming for cross sell -- selling Bell's wireless service or home services to the customer come to the store maybe only for a pair of earbuds! They don't care how much of the consumer electronic products you have sold, the only target on the fair-share is to those Bell services. The pressure is ridiculously high. The only way to sell better is to make your own networking, however, the manager does't allow the salesperson using their phones even they are bringing customers to the store and call it "the GROWING PAIN". One of our top sales person complained it and got the retaliation -- his hours was cut from 40 hours per week to 15.

Went down fast
Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Alberta21 August 2018
Source was a great place till 2016. Change in leadership brought the company to under valuing employees. Managers tossed away that were successful just cause their immediate bosses were insecure.
Pressure to do better even even when double year before sales.
No support to remove staff not completing job. DM turning staff against manager.
Pros
Could set own wage
Cons
Undervalued, remote locations ignored with no support from DM

Assistant gérant (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC25 July 2018
Easy to be hired.

Have to lie your ars off to sell useless extended warranty to add some bonuses to the miserable salary.

Th sellers are competing each other and there is tension between them.

The manager and assistance manager are under a lot of stress for little more money than the sellers. Work late hours after the store closes.
Pros
No brainer
Cons
No prospects
