A very different place to work
I can't say that this company is that horrible. The only thing that made my time with the Salvation Army - Thrift Store unpleasant was my District Manager. From my first day with the organization; I could tell that I was going to have a difficult time with her. She had been newly promoted into the role and I was hired as the Manager of her old store. The entire time that I was employed with the organization; she didn't support or like any of the changes that I did to "her" store. It was to the point that she found faults in all of the staff that I had hired but any of the existing staff that were in place when I was hired could do no wrong. The other thing that upset me was the salary that was paid to me.Even though I understood that I worked for the great organization of Salvation Army; the pay for a Store Manager could have been a little higher. The Salvation Army talks about helping others; however the pay that is awarded to staff should reflect that work that is done and not if the District Manager likes them.
Pros
Discount on all items.
Cons
Lack of support from the District Manager.
