Quick-paced work but very rewarding!
Forklift Operator (Current Employee) –  Edmonton, AB1 December 2016
LPC is a lot of fun to work for in the warehouse if you can keep up with the demand. My coworkers and supervisors are extremely friendly.
I noticed if you want to train in another department, you need to pester your supervisor sometimes. The company tends to bring in temp workers when Production employees with experience can be overlooked.
The most annoying part of my position is the paperwork or the slow computers/systems not working some days but the monthly things like free pizza, quarterly celebrations, coffee & donut days, and so on make up for it. The HR team has boxes set up for anonymous comments or suggestions too.
I'm used to the sit-down forklifts but I learned how to use stand-up units. There are sign-up sheets for overtime as well and the system for paychecks, hours, and time-off requests is entirely online now.
Also employees can request a single paid day off every 4 months which I like.
Pros
Free lunches, optional overtime, great coworkers, company cares about employees, and the benefits are nice
Cons
Long hours, promises for something can take a while, company uses old quantity tag system, and tough to get cross-training
