If you were in charge, what would you do to make The Jim Pattison Auto Group a better place to work?
Fight for better pay to keep the high overturn of staff due to only receiving minimum wage. Offer benefits to all employees, not just full time employees. Perhaps after a minimum length of employment, such as 3 months. Employee recognition would be positive. It’s a hard job, and I was told by my coworkers that I did it exceptionally well. Rather than recognizing the skill set that I brought to the job, I was continually told by the junior manager “not to worry about certain customer service situations that I felt could be improved upon, I was told to just do my own job and it was insulting to me. I want to make sure to say that for the most part, I really enjoyed the job. The pay wasn’t good, but the people I worked with were amazing. It was like a family. (Most of the family is wonderful, but there’s always that one crazy 😜 family member, who you wish wouldn’t show up to the family reunion!) In retrospect, I was probably quite overqualified for the position.
What advice would you give the CEO of The Jim Pattison Auto Group about how to improve the company?
Retire, before you do more damage to the future of this company.
