Focus in sales personnel quality recruitment and retention.
Commission structure is compeitive. Hourly is lower than all of its major competitors. No employer 401K. Teamsters union.Generally, top management in rental car is from fleet. In the industry, I find there is a lack of focus on recruiting and maintaining top counter sales personnel. These are the employees making money for the location and the company. Often, the managers interviewing a new applicant is not the optimal person. All brands are using the same basic training concept. If a sales person is excellent, leave that person alone and let them sell. Using sales reps to cover the gate and returns will build a negative reputation in the industry and cause Hertz to lose top sales personnel and lose applications from top and experienced sales cadidates.
Pros
Total revenue based commission
Cons
Overbooked periods, ridiculous to make sales agents cover the exit gate, which proves management is clueless with keeping top sales personnel

Decent company.
Their main goal is customer service, but that's just an excuse to not get in trouble. They say it's customer service when in reality it is, it's money and profit. Theu will throw customer service out the window for extra bottom line.
Pros
Great coworkers, decent pay.
Cons
The idea of commission based jobs is terrible, the environment is bad, the reps will rip you off for an extra fee.
