Steward Dishwasher (Former Employee) – Lake Louise, AB – 12 August 2018
Amazing people and culture. You feel part of a team. All management is very nice and understanding. Training for the job and the attitude the employees need to hold is intensive and perfect to make us feel part of the company
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Lake Louise, AB – 7 September 2018
I love working for Fairmont, but not at this location. Very isolated with high turnover, and copious extreme drug use. Management has very little training/experience. Avoid this place at all costs - unless you want to be washed up in ammature hour and partying.
Supervisor and Cashier (Current Employee) – lake louise – 2 July 2018
I accepted a supervisor position at this location. The staff accommodation is shared and there is not a lot of privacy. My car was vandalized after a few days of arriving here. I never got a follow up back from security. I feel extremely isolated here almost like a prison. There is only a small bar down the road and nothing else to do except hiking. If you don't bring a car here good luck. I have also noticed a lot of people here have addictions. i've seen a lot of drugs and drinking which is hard when you don't do them to make good friends.
I would think twice about coming here. I am already considering my options to leave.
Sous Chef (Former Employee) – Lake Louise, AB – 27 May 2018
The hotel itself is nestled in a beautiful surrounding, and while very costly staying there is definitely worth it for at least one day. The quality of food is very good however the expectations of the executive team are unrealistic and do not allow for setting one up for success. ITs a great place to work and i believe that you take what you get from it (meaning you learn what you can) but even at that the biggest problem this place has is the lack of accountability and how everything just gets blamed on people who cant actually defend themselves, resulting almost in a high school bully situation. I think the salary and benefits are competitive until you factor in the amount of time you are putting in of your life to working and come to realize that even prep cooks make more than you...

Security Services Agent (Former Employee) – Lake Louise, AB – 5 April 2017
Fairmont as a whole is a great company to work for. It is luxury, friendly and nice. People are generally happy in their jobs and makes for a positive work environment. Chateau Lake Louise is a resort property, therefore has a different work/life balance compared to an urban city hotel property. Working security in Lake Louise offered a FAIR, rotating schedule which allowed for time off between shifts and working days to be out and enjoy the best natural landscapes that the Canadian Rockies have to offer.
Amazing staff resturant with great meals offered. Good staff accommodations.
