Not recomend for Canada Site
Principal scientist (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 20 January 2023
They don't care about the Canadian site, especially for product development. The company in Canada only take advantage of cheap labours or coop students.A big company without innovation results in low market competitiveness. Short-sighted top managers cause the increasing cost of products and huge wastes of internal resources. Low efficiency for internal departments leads to super-long product development processes.
Pros
Great company culture and good safety environment.
Cons
Not a research driven company. All OEM.

The best thing I liked about the Estee Lauder is that there are people working from many countries Like Brazil, Iran, Iraq, Zimbabwe, and of course India. Supervisors were so nice and supportive.

Toxic environment, regular restructures, poor leadership and mean girl mentality
Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 21 October 2022
In a word: Toxic. There is a mean girl mentality at the Canadian corporate office (ie: MAC brand). The complete opposite of the inclusivity. There is an utter lack of representation of BIPOC communities. Simply look at the leadership roles. The pay is not competitive nor the vacation. The company continues to go through several restructuring based on poor leadership and revolving doors. Do yourself a favour and enjoy the products but find work elsewhere.

Lots of sales pressure, Workplace gossip/competition is an issue, steals the fun out of makeup
Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) - Newmarket, ON - 26 September 2022
Pay is garbage for the sales goals they put on you per month. Co-workers gossip, are extremely fake and are catty. Workplace culture is shallow and competitive. Management only cares to help you if you bring in the sales. Overall a really sales hungry business, and full of miserable women that stab you in the back.
Pros
Higher wage, but barely enough to sustain a living
Cons
Gossip, Catty, Horrible Management, Sales Hungry Misery

This review is more for the bay. Very competitive job. Other beauty advisors running to customers as of was commission based. No room to grow and learn.

Fun and easy job
Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 9 August 2022
Very easy but repetitive work. If you can handle the repetitive work, it'll be a breeze working here. The people I was working with and the line leader/supervisors were all great too.

Decent work culture
R&D Scientist (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 24 June 2022
Company has good intentions but the delivery is awkward. So much money spent on glitzy management initiatives, training and performance reviews that have goals that are too esoteric and not practical. Some of their job descriptions in job postings are not relatable at all to the professional applying. Too much talk of obscure objectives and not of real tasks required.
Pros
short friday
Cons
bizarre management from headquarters

Toxic
Process Operator (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 4 May 2022
If you're not Indian, forget it. You'll be poorly treated, you'll experience favoritism, you'll struggle for a spot to work. Management does next to nothing about these issues most especially when you're from a different racial background.

Productive and fun.
Process Coordinator (Current Employee) - Ontario - 8 April 2022
Different culture but we respect each others culture. We work as a team that's how we manage our duties at work. A lot to learn. I learned how to communicate different people.

No job-work balance at all
Engineer (Former Employee) - Markham, ON - 12 March 2022
Excellent products of high quality are made at this place, unfortunately the current leadership is awful, always asking for hundreds of things at once but they don't provide the necessary support and definitely, zero leadership. If you want to work in a company that will brake your life-work balance, a company that got stuck in the 70's, that demands results but no support, then this is the perfect place to join.

Very respectful and fair environment:
QC Lab analyst (Contract) (Current Employee) - Scarborough, ON - 15 February 2022
People in this company have the sense of sympathy and appreciation. They are persuasive, understanding and caring. The trainers are very patient and everyone work like a family. I fell I belong to this place and I whole heartedly want to help this company to be its best.
