Beautiful school and great co-workers
Assistant (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 19 July 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe school is beautiful and located by many museums, theaters, and Grand Park. Parking can be a bit tricky especially when there is a performance. The management can be hit or miss here.

Inept leadership
Manager (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 11 August 2019
It could be great, but general lack of leadership and support and toxic culture holds the organization back. The CEO doesn’t have a consistent vision below a superficial level and so priorities are constantly changing.

Too much going on
VOLUNTEER YOUTH COUNSELOR (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 19 February 2019
You have a lot to take care of, not just the kids, but the group as a whole.
You have to look out for other things.
The food was good, met people's dietary needs.

Small team, large responsibilities at times stressful but great group of people to work hard with.
Executive Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 26 May 2017
Manage busy Sr. Mgmt calendars, scheduling meetings with very busy executives, arrange travel and board committee meetings--create agendas, minutes and summaries. Expense reporting, department budgeting, participate in major events for fundraising, letter drafting and donor relations.
The most enjoyable part of the job is achieving fundraising results for much needed scholarships to allow students, with the desire to stay in the arts that ability to do so and then watching how they strive when given the opportunity.. It's fulfilling! The people that we work with daily make all of the hard days pleasurable.
Pros
Great people, 2 weeks off at Christmas
Cons
Always lots to do, many deadlines and few people to handle

Overwhelming job with no real job security (At-will employment)
Accounts Receivable (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - 20 June 2012
One an average day I was responsible for counting out the petty cash drawer, checking all of the out standing balance within the A.R. dept. Filing away any documents that needed to be taken care of, take notes of any task that needed to be completed by the A.R. manager. The hardest part of the job: The A.R. manager was not very nice and was very demanding with task, if she was in a bad mood it showed and she was not very professional with talking about personal things to fellow employees. My Co-workers were all pretty fantastic, minus the A.R. manager.
Pros
excellent benefits - medical, dental, vision all paid for
Cons
poor management within finance dept.

Director of Operations (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, California - 22 February 2012
An amazing campus in the midst of the Los Angeles Cultural Corridor with a great team of co-workers responsible for the operation of the facility. Unfortunately, the School continues to hire/fire people causing an unstable environment.
Pros
on campus cafe, performances by the students for staff to attend, free parking, spotless environment, great location
Cons
instability, poor communication from upper mgmnt, resolving budgetary issues with layoffs
