Great place to grow
Utility I Entry Operator (Current Employee) –  Elkton, MD25 April 2019
Fast paced environment with opportunity for advancement, if you are willing to do the work.
Typical day consists of various manual and mechanical operations within a 'clean room' environment.

Management sucks.
Manufaturer (Former Employee) –  Elkton, MD25 April 2019
You get in trouble for calling out due to weather. You get penalized if you leave for being sick. You have to give 24 hours notice or you get an occurrence. Moving up in the company is the hardest. You don’t get raises like you used to. Your bosses will make Saturday’s mandatory for weeks after not having enough people. There’s unnecessary drama pretty much everyone at your throat.

Poor management taken over and refuses to listen to employees
Associate (Current Employee) –  Southaven, MS11 February 2019
Personally left because Management was willing to fire anyone that disagreed with them and attempted to pacify employees they frequently ignored with 'gifts' like new chairs, desserts, and promises of bonuses that never appeared.

I was part of a smaller division at Terumo Medical, which allowed us to move at a quicker pace and yet stay compliant. The team was small and therefore allowed for the team member to learn and wear several hats/responsibilities.

Good company to work for, but the pay and management sucks!
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Elkton, MD18 January 2019
Terumo as a whole is a great company to work for. They offer you great benefits and give you a lot of overtime. One of their downfalls is their pay and poor management.
Pros
Offer great benefits and match your 401K
Cons
Gotta clock out for breaks. Two- faced co- workers.

Utility Worker (Former Employee) –  Elkton, MD 2192126 December 2018
Terumo as a whole was a very tight knit workplace, everyone knew everyone. In TR Band the department itself was fairly new and the population was younger, early twenties. They're were many homemakers like myself and then veterans, people whom have been there over 20 years.

Constantly asking for performance outside of job requirements
Senior Quality Assurance Technician (Former Employee) –  Elkton, MD6 December 2018
Constant changeover in management and then down through the lower levels. Management is unwilling to accept any responsibility for mistakes and almost always finds someone lower in the organization to put the blame on and sometimes ensures they lose their job to cover up their mistakes that occurred at a higher level. Recently, they have forced out a large number of very capable, very senior personnel for things that are very small issues, either with the intention of running the company into the ground, or getting younger people in who are more willing to follow misguided directions from management, or can be forced to do more work for less money, because they will not challenge management in fear of losing their jobs. They are constantly asking people to do work that they are not capable of doing, have no experience doing, or is far above what their job requirements consist of, which makes for a very poor work model. It causes undue stress and constantly overloads people with work, which causes there to be very little work/life balance, and makes almost everything they do reactionary instead of taking preventive measures or properly assessing changes prior to implementing them, all in the name of meeting the deadline and getting credit for completing it rather than doing it properly. Even with that, those that are most capable and are constantly willing to do more far above and beyond those that can't or won't, rarely get adequate compensation and raises for it, and a lot of the management plays favorites and highly rewards people that do just enough to get by, while the more  more... capable people get mediocre compensation because they aren't the favorites. Very, very political atmosphere, which if you don't play along the way they want, you frequently get called out for things that shouldn't be an issue, or get overloaded with work, sometimes expected to do things that require 200% of your possible time available and are expected to be done in a very short timeframe.  less

Great company to work for with lots of good benefits. Only thing I disapprove of is the hours change a lot because of production demands. My associates were team players, and we work some Saturday's.

Poor management
Utility Worker (Current Employee) –  950 elkton blvd elkton md 2192122 October 2018
The starting pay was good but they stopped that. They have also do a lot of favoritism and move only friends and family up. The management is poor they allow people to leave their areas all the time and the hard workers are stuck where they are at and never advanced. This would be a great place If it was managed better. They over work their good employees until they quit and the employees that leave the room and do everything but work move up and are not punished. I would use this place as a starting job and move to a better managed company.
Pros
Free coffee and benefits
Cons
Poor management, not for people who have kids.

ok place to work
Glidesheath Assembler (Current Employee) –  Elkton, MD19 October 2018
This job is repetitive and fast paced. There is a lot of favoritism involved so if you're not one then you're more likely not to get a promotion. They are ok with a starting pay rate but are trying to put a stop to raises. The management doesn't care if they lose you or not, they are to focused on meeting quota and not making the employees happy.
Pros
they do provide many benefits that alot of companies don't.
Cons
not very employee friendly or family oreniented.

Management is clueless, ignorant, and demanding. Employees are overworked and expectations are unrealistic. There is no loyalty, so my advice is learn as much as you can, and take it to your next job.

Utility 1 (Current Employee) –  Elkton, MD3 October 2018
It’s an okay place to work. They have great benefits. I’m sure working for a salaried position is much different (better) than us hourly employees. This review is for hourly utility workers. A lot of mandatory overtime. Forget any social life you may have, especially if you work 2nd shift. If you call out sick, even with a doctors note and still have sick time, you still get written up. I don’t think the pay is very great, but I guess for not having a degree it’s decent. They just decreased how often you get raises. Due to hiring so many new people the parking lot is now way too small, there are not enough lockers, and the break room is small.
