Bunch of Thieves, you pay $500 to start with them they cut you a drift
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON9 May 2019
Not sure how these criminals are still in business, few yrs ago I bought into the garbage they're peddling and few after our group of initiates (who paid $500 each) were informed the company declared chapter 11 in Canada so everyone gets totally screwed no refunds, no support nothing.
Cons
crooked thieves run this corp.

Excellent Workplace culture and environment
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON7 May 2019
Management is helpful and very supportive, provides adequate training.

Telus is not a profitable company and it reflects down to employee compensations.

They don't care. Period.
Small Medium Business Sales (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC17 April 2019
The only good thing about working for Telus is the pay & benefits - basically $$$$. Sometimes you're lucky enough to be working around some nice teammates.
Other then that middle management is useless in most cases. Upper management is either complicit with this uselessness or they are just plain ignorant/ blind to it. They micro-manage, bully, intimidate, play favorites, inconsistent with holding people accountable to KPI's. Some people can float in 3 mins late all the time & are never disciplined, and others are 1 min late & get written up. I witnessed a team member literally stealing company time & not calling in sick or leaving early without proper coding. It wasnt their first time & they only got a suspension. Its ridiculous. If Telus wants to make an example out of you, they will - so you work having to 'look over your shoulder' all the time.
I havent even touched on the internal politics, horrible internal systems that are never properly fixed, offshoring, etc.
Pros
salary, bonuses, share options, benefits, peers
Cons
everything else

Good company - some challenges
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Kelowna27 March 2019
Telus is a good company that offers great benefits, and a collaborative team environment.
Some great coworkers that are fun and helpful and make coming into the office fun.
Lots to learn - busy role and never a dull moment.
Had the opportunity to work with some fantastic clients.
Training provided that was top notch and something you can use in other organizations.
Lots of job stress in this role.
Management - I have a mixed review here as have had both great and poor experience with management changes.
Expectation was to be in the office Mon - Thurs - work from home was not encouraged or supported yet the tools Telus offers to their clients encourages the WFH ideology.
Pros
Benefits, Training, Great coworkers. Stock options. 3 weeks VAC to start
Cons
Micro management, Work Life Balance could be improved, Commission payments can take a long time to be paid out, Some managers are not supportive or quallified for their roles.

Good Job
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Collingwood, ON18 March 2019
Good job, need to be in a location where it is busier as you get paid as you sell. Commission based is great if it is busier then there is more opportunities. Part time and full time put under strict deadlines to get sales out with everything included so prepared to get talked to if those aren't done. Overall the benefits are great as part time and meeting your sales goals there are many incentives.
Pros
incentives
Cons
commission

Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Vancouver, BC20 February 2019
Door to door sales is not so funny. It is a great opportunity for newcomers, but that is. It is possible to make 70 $ per day if you work pretty hard..
Pros
Survival job. An opportunity to improve your sales skills

Independent dealer
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON2 October 2018
Independent dealer handles corporate and business clients and brace yourself for tough working environment. Standard commission doesn't apply since it's not directly govern by Telus and you get to service all the tough clients with minimal support, yet wage is considerably weak compared to other competitor.
Pros
Not pushing the sales
Cons
Everything

good to gain sales experience
Door to Door Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC17 July 2018
The job is interesting as you can talk to various customers, but you have to search them out by knocking doors one by one. Also, the job doesn't have a salary as it is commission based, so you have to work for what you get, literally. Takes a while to get a client base so that income becomes more stable.
Pros
sales experience and kind superiors
Cons
need willpower and strong sales skills

Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Lloydminster, AB27 June 2018
There are so many changes to the commission structure and operations day-to-day that it's hard to keep up, but the job is still enjoyable.

That in no way reflects on how easy it is, and how rewarding it can be to help each customer. But it's a given negative.
Pros
Great company, Great people, Great money
Cons
Inconsistent Shifts (Retail expected), High goals, Stressful Environment
