Great place to work as long as they keep your job in canada
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 4 January 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGreat place to work with great benefits and schedule. Management was decent some better than others. The union keeps some less than optimal employees around.

It was good
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - British Columbia - 13 December 2022
It was good pay benefits I only left because of some personal issues. Otherwise I would’ve stayed. The clients have the same as they are everywhere else.

Sad place to work at
Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - AB - 10 December 2022
If you want to be promoted here, you have to rub elbows with the right people. You can be the best employee here and they will still let you go while other employees doing the bare minimum gets to stay.
Pros
Salary and benefits are good
Cons
Unfair treatment to employees

Do not recommend
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Canada - 28 November 2022
If you really need a job, it could be worse. However, the schedule was awful, no ability to predict when you would be working. Difficult to get a raise. Your hours could fuctuate wildly from 40 hours per week plus OT to 15 hours a week or less. Super angry customers. Not allowed to go to the bathroom outside of your break unless you produce a medical note. Did not like the culture. They do offer great heath benefits though.
Pros
Excellent heath benefits, being employed
Cons
Everything else

I had a good manager and team
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 22 October 2022
Telus is great at hiring good staff. Coworkers were all nice people and my managers were also super friendly and easy to deal with. Things were electronically micromanaged too much, tracking, time on calls, etc. Ultimately that made you feel like a number but the people I worked with made up for that.

High pressure / micro managed / high pressure to sell
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Barrie, ON - 23 September 2022
TELUS does not care about their employees or customers . They have very high metrics that you have to meet to avoid being disciplined. If you like being yelled at daily by customers and having to upsell on every call.. this is the job for you .
Pros
Pay/ compensation
Cons
They listen ti every call to ensure you tried to upsell

People were great. Metrics were for robots.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 3 August 2022
This job would be great for someone who is more sales and numbers focused than I am. The people were great. The company valued high call volume and high sales numbers.
Pros
Discount on services, health and dental
Cons
Sales focused

Overwhelming after a while
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - ON - 19 July 2022
Depending on your manager the coaching culture can be suffocating. Unending push for sales...claims to be customer focused but actually more sales focused. Never feeling like you're doing enough even when you are doing well in your stats (which are heavily monitored and reviewed constantly) On top of that you're dealing with frustrated people sometimes and it doesn't help when you're already stressed from expectations from above. Lack of work life balance due to scheduling, which is difficult to anticipate and subject to change. There are benefits to the job too, just depends what you are able to put up with. The daily work itself is neutral.
Pros
decent pay, benefits, work from home, nice coworkers
Cons
late shifts and weekends, constant micromanaging, pushing for sales

Overall interview experience was good.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Santa Tecla, El Salvador - 11 July 2022
Overall interview experience was good at times but they took too much time to finish the selection process. They should improve average candidate experience so they don't look elsewhere for same or different positions.

Good experience, good benefits, good wage, the pressure and grind for sales and terrible hours near impossible. Near zero life work balance!
Customer Care and Service (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 4 July 2022
Working in Customer Care was AWEFUL! The Pressure to sell was worse than aweful. Management used to be good but got worse through the years. The wage and benifits are good but working anywhere from 7am start to 3pm end and the next week 1:15pm start and off at 9:15pm with a work week that starts on Sunday work Sunday Monday get Tuesday Wednesday off work Thursday to Saturday start Monday for whatever maniac days and hours the next week forget it. Glad Im out of that Nut House.
Pros
Small little bonuses
Cons
Miserable hours and work schedule.

Good salary, toxic culture
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Burnaby - 3 July 2022
Toxic management. They instruct you to do one thing then will tell you to do something else completely contradictory. They expect employees to be robots. Sales are pushed in roles that are not sales oriented.
Pros
Salary
Cons
Work environment

No work life balance
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - British Columbia - 19 June 2022
The pay and benefits are pretty good. The rotation the call centre reps work makes work life balance impossible. Management track everything you do and for the most part have no ability to think for themselves and they just parrot what is told to them .
Pros
Benefits, Work from home options
Cons
Lack of work life balance

Comfortable workplace with good pay
Technical Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 21 May 2022
Decent job with good pay. Pretty comfortable because you get to sit at home and work, but can become exhausting. Only issue is that it can become stressful and the hours are variable, so it doesn't offer a lot of work/life balance.

It was ok
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Ontario - 11 May 2022
It was ok, good pay and fun team. Manager can sometimes micromanage but not toxic work environment. CEO is decent, great long term place to work out and advancement is possible

Stressful depending on what role you are in.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Vancouver Island, BC - 6 May 2022
So. Many. Meetings. My teammates were very supportive but management made the job very stressful. A lot of strict deadlines for sales metrics. I wouldn’t NOT recommend working here. But I wouldn’t recommend it either. Mediocre.

Productive and fun workplace
Customer Service and Sales (Former Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 6 May 2022
Loved this company, as it gave me several opportunities to grow and move to other positions within Telus. Great management, atmosphere and wonderful people. Most enjoyable part of the job was your colleagues-hardest part was leaving but left with a lot of great friendships I'll have for the rest of my life.

Productive
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 19 April 2022
Call after call. Sometimes will get the occasional meeting and be able to get off phones. But 98% of the day is customer facing. Management is good as well

Depends on the manager of the store.
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Orillia, ON - 17 March 2022
So in the store I'm located in, it's your responsibility to ensure there is staff in the store and not the managers. Don't get me wrong the company is good - but managers are the make or break deal. Know who your going to be working for.
