Excellent pay but high stress

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Metrics can be difficult for many. There is a lot of pressure to sell and cross-sell constantly. Day time hours are difficult to come by for new hires. Management are friendly as long as you meet metrics. They can be very harsh if you do not. A credit check and criminal record check were required. Salary and benefits packages are exceptional. TD Canada Trust is an LGBTQ2+ friendly environment as well as an equal opportunity employer. Community events can be fun.

Pros

Excellent rate of pay

Cons

High level of pressure to meet sales targets

Excellent

I’ve worked at several different branches in different positions and enjoyed each experience. There is a lot of training offered. Benefits and medical are great I would definitely recommend the bank as a great employer.

Good pay but too stressful

Stressful work environment, sales goals are unrealistic and employees are not treated well if they do not perform under a high-stress environment and make quotas. New staff are left alone to figure things out for themselves in front of customers. On the bright side, the pay and benefits are good but asking for schedule flexibility or a day off is a nightmare.

Pros

good pay, good benefits, good vacation hours

Cons

work weekends, stressful environment, high sales goals, lack of training, poor management, poor work-life balance, understaffed

Welcoming and safe workplace

TD was a great place to work at. The corporate culture and values were well in line with the current economic and societal environment. One downfall was the pay was lackluster in comparison to the rest of the "big 5" banks in Canada. On the other hand, the hours were really good as they are open the longest out of any of the financial institutions.

Pros

Long and flexible work hours

Cons

Low pay

avoid retail banking

low pay and not nice working environment with longest working hours. A lot of retail advisors went to other financial institutions. Management team either changes consistently or you stuck with a poor manager. Benefits are not bad with staff discount and health spending account also incentive plan.

Pros

company brand

Cons

Most managers do not appreciate your efforts

I learnt a lot during my time with TD so for me it was the best learning experience

I left working with TD back in 2005 when I relocated to india. I got back after many years and I find that there is not so much growth as far as the salary is concerned.

Kort Haus Bar and Grill

This job is client facing, which means there is a lot of trouble shooting involved. The work week is lengthy at best but provides the environment to meet some interesting people. Many work perks, from free meal to blue jays tickets etc

Pros

Free lunch

Long Hours

Low salary for the amount of work load you do. Highly sales driven to the point of unrealistic goals since ceo changes. I would suggest to look else where.

Bad culture and management with huge pressure sell

Great salary and bonuses with lots of room for advancement, because of the turnover... Management was horrible. I find everyone in the retail branches of TD is motivated to perform to get out of their current position. Leaving each position with people that have little experience from the tellers to branch managers.

Good student job

Good place to start your career, benefits and pay are good for a student. Lagging promotion after finishing your schooling. Depends heavily on where you work
