Review for TD

TD Bank Group is a great workplace with great banking and health benefits, however, career advancement is slow compared to other financial institutions.

Good Job

It's a good place to make sure that your bills are paid. Work-Life balance is impossible. The management is very unorganized. You have to wait awhile for advancements.

Overall Nice work environment.Work in on a scheduled shift reach for your project file, using all the needed resources for success provided by the company, follow laid down policies to execute your task.At the end of each shift maintain the minimum required standard so the next user can have a hitch free work day.

Traning program for new and existing staff is phenomenal.Regular potluck with free lunch.

Mostly Contract type employment with Low conversion to permanent employment rate.

Although working there can be stressful, it's still a good working environment overall. They offer great training and career growth opportunities and the managers want to see you do well.

A typical day at work

you learn day by day with a team of underwriters and credit assistants. Its a great environment with different cultures and languages. working on weekend and late shift is the hardest part of the job.

went down hill

Favors internal hires, which is a great opportunity for TD employees to move up in the industry or for experiencing different areas within TD. Downside, after working in different areas of TD, I was privy to different management teams. At the end, employees were subject to timing out breaks. And vacations were to be booked at the beginning of the year, and were not able to be rescheduled as the year goes by. For home life emergencies, TD was not very supportive. Income was at the lowest of the salary scale. Not competitive at all.

Very pleasant work place, managers make you take ownership of your decisions, and strong support to advance in your career, instead of focusing only on productivity metrics.

Poor work environment due to lack of professionalism from Management

I’ve worked for a Credit Union, then Canada Trust they were the best until TD took over Canada Trust. I left for MBNA after working with MBNA and transitioning to Bank of America, then transitioning to TD Bank. TD Bank have core values it’s too bad they don’t live by them or enforce them. The unprofessionalism, lack of respect with management, Is the reason for high turnover with seasoned representatives. If you dare bring up any concerns in around table, it will make it worst. TD culture has ruined the great atmosphere. I still working at TD bank, counting down my retirement. They wonder why so many employees are calling out sick or going on stress leave. All the good managers that cares about the employees and the customer are gone or will be on your way out by force either stress them out to quit, fired, transfer to other departments or a branch. If you get sick or disabled you are on your way out there is no accommodations. I seen too many good people get forced out that way. The managers left are about themselves and gossiping about all their employees to each and to other employees, nothing is left confidential. The schedule has no life work balance to anyone with a family. It’s not a fun place to work. On a positive note TD does offer good benefits, stock options, pension plan and free parking.

Pension Benefits Free Parking

Poor Management Not a life work balance with schedule

Not like before..

Politics have always been a factor in any corporation however, banks are no longer the way they used to be. Job stability is no longer guaranteed. The pay is minimum. Managers with no leadership skills. Everything is going electronic and employees will no longer be needed in the near future.

Sick days, Wellness account

Pay, managers, politics
