Terrible Management

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Management gets you to bring in a doctor’s letter if you’re sick indicating you have Covid symptoms but illness is unrelated to Covid to get you to come in. Very high turnover with staff at the branch I worked at. Horrible management that took 2+ hour lunch breaks and didn’t lift a finger when someone expressing they had Covid-19 entered the premises. Personal banking associate role was redundant. They should have never got rid of the FSR role.

Pros

Adequate salary, great team mates.

Cons

Awful management.

Good place to start.

Good place to start if you don't have any experience in banking. I got promoted within 6 months of joining. The sales target are high, so you have to always be on your toes.

Bureaucracy branch life

- Micromanagement. No career growth without upper management team's support. - Manager's personal preference comes before employees' performance results. Very depressing environment. - No chance to advance (worst case even leads to termination of job), if your manager wants to promote friend to replace your position. - Very sales-oriented. TD only pushes sales to bring in new money and does not care about retaining existing business. - Unclear job responsibilities. Transitional PBA are expected to complete regular PBA's sales goals + 1/4 of FA's goal without additional time, support, and compensation. - Unfair treatment in branch. Hard working does not lead to good result.

Pros

experience

Cons

unfair treatment

Dynamic and Professional

Working at TD is great, the culture and ambiance is professional which is fulfilling on a day-to-day basis. Dealing with various different financial situations, aiding clients with banking solutions to enhance their portfolios and daily operations. The best part is giving clients genuine advice, and making sure they understand before departing the branch.

Pros

Flexible, Professional

employee are human being too

I do not know where to start with this company. Worked somewhere around a year as a PBA. Management favors people to the max. Some will always get weekends off, some will only have 1 late shift per week. While I rarely have a weekend, never had a full long weekend, sometimes 3 late shift. Work-life balance is out of the picture. Pay is so low. If I am not living at home with parents, I will be dead on street already. TD always tell you just do the right things for customers. However, right things rarely count credit toward your goal -> no BIP Trying to go operation team to become an operation officer , but of course, it's never about how much knowledge you have. It's always about who you know.

Pros

none

Cons

no work-life balance, pay way too low, no equal opportunities of employees

A welcoming and positive environment to work in; support from managers is on average good, but it can be improved. Provides a good foundation for building core leadership and communication skills.

Excellent work environment with some great people to work

I had a great time working with TD. The work life balance was the greatest as employees are really important as per the philosophy of the bank. Being my learning ground as far as work experience is concerned, I learnt the best management skills and teamwork. I still am in touch with most of my co-workers and managers.
