Only care about the numbers
Customer Experience Associate/Secure Desk Operator (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 4 January 2021
If you're looking for a company that expects unreasonable goals, weekly performance reviews, management that smiles to your face and then throws you under the bus, then TD is right for you! They will promote you if you are a puppet but pay you as little as possible.
Pros
It provided a paycheck
Cons
The paycheck was not worth the effort.

Insights into TD
Areas for improvement
- General feeling of work happiness
- Energizing work tasks
- Fair pay for job
TD was great for the most part
Teller/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 21 April 2020
overall the position as a teller was great. I just messed up my next steps within a role here so not much else I can really say. I would just suggest being careful about who you speak to in terms of your branch peeps (they can be very petty)

Do not work here
Financial Advisor (Current Employee) - Oakville, ON - 20 February 2020
I have worked for a few of the large banks in Canada and I can say with confidence, TD is the worst.
The salary is low and bonuses are based on favorites. Process is built without logic and technology is archaic.
Pros
Nice business card, people are impressed
Cons
Management, lack of training, backstabbing, zero money

Great work environment can be demanding/stressful
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Oakville, ON - 23 October 2019
Process a diverse array of transactions. Will often need many things to be signed off. Constantly interacting with people. "Meet needs" of customer by offering them different products. Hours can be quite long at some branches and open 7 days a week.

No salary increase in 15 years
Associate Investment Advisor (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 19 October 2019
Management expects you to be happy with a promotion but no increase in salary ! 15 years with no increase is crazy. Too much responsibility with no lunch breaks is expected. Management asking to give them good reviews so that their bonuses are good

Unsatisfying headache
Customer Experience Associate (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 23 July 2019
Not a good place to work, ask for way too much of you and give you the bare minimum. Managers don't want the best for you, and there is no incentive to advance upwards because it looks even more depressing as an advisor

Jobs at TD
in Oakville, ONAmazing company
Customer Service Representative (CSR) (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 3 March 2019
Hard-working environment that still cares about a work-life balance. The people there made the work easier to do, but even as such there were high expectations for everything produced

What a Financial Adviser do
Financial Advisor (Current Employee) - Oakville, ON - 7 February 2018
Branch retail sales advisor role gives me the opportunities to use my knowledge and products to help my clients to reach their financial goal. Complex lending, retirement planning, debt restructures and investments planning for personal and small business are what I am focusing on every day. These translate into attention to detail, discovery, gap analysis, and problem-solving with knowledge and products.

Great co-workers, terrible management
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 3 August 2017
You will meet lifelong friends at the branch level but management will treat you well as long as you hit your sales goals. If you don't, then you will hate your life.
Pros
Great co-workers
Cons
Doesn't pay overtime for branch closing

A typical Day at work
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Oakville, ON - 12 June 2017
You are required to sell a lot at the branch level and it's not easy if you work in a location where not a lot of people purchase credit products. There is constant pressure and if you don't meet and exceed your goals you are looked down upon by everyone at the branch. You can certainly feel the pressure and there's very little training when you initially start.

Had a horrible branch manager
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Oakville, ON - 27 January 2017
Was very fast at picking up becoming a teller and was very fast at dealing with customers, did not do well numbers wise but had an outstanding relationship with staff and customers, I assisted our staff as well as the front desk in organizing, filing, and data entry. Change of branch managers bought in a man who did not like me and from day one began to treat me horribly and on more than one occasion in email called me a disappointment. HR didn't do anything to help as they were always on vacation and my customer service manager just said to ignore him. Left because I couldn't stand it anymore.
Cons
Branch manager

Cons
Unstable hours, hard time moving up, and could get political.

Its ok
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Oakville, ON - 10 April 2016
not a bad place to work, salary isnt the best but advancement seems quite possible. Also, there is too much f an emphasis on sales and pushing products onto customers even if they dont need them
