Sales, Sales and more Sales

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
AS you can expect from a major bank, they are never satisfied with your numbers (no matter how much you exceed their "sales goals". It is definitely stressful and can take away from your work-life balance if you let it. The culture is quite good and the people are what make the job tolerable for a few years. Pay is decent - nowhere near enough for the amount of work people put in. Overall not for me, but may be a fit for others.

Retail Banking Culture

Working in a face paced retail banking environment. Learned how to multitask, improve communication skills, working individually and as part of a team. The hardest part of the job is that you can get burned out by some of the mundane daily tasks. The most enjoyable part is helping clients out and the rewarding feeling that you have made even the smallest difference in their lives, whether it be saving money, fixing a problem or making an emotional connection that makes them feel comfortable enough to feel like family.

High Stress Low Pay

The expectations are extremely high for a low paying job. In order to advance you must be willing to go against your own self beliefs and standards. You can only stay so long without jeopardizing your own integrity.

Time and Money

Your days starts with huge line up all the time. It's a high pressure work to deal with customers in a timely manner. Most of the time we don't like to wait in line for anything so that's the hardest part. Other than that it's a great beginning to learn from scratches.

Pros

Fun breaks, gifts from customers

Cons

shift hours

Working for TD was very repetitive, as soon as the project was done I left the bank. I was reviewing bank contracts daily, the hardest part of the job was commuting to the office.
