Employment Stability with potential for growth

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Started with TD Bank in 1982. Have had the opportunity to grow within the company. Started with a Salary of $25,000 a year. Took a leap of faith in 2012, leaving a salary of $75,000 a year to a straight commission role. The team and management support is fantastic, allowing me to become one of the best within 2 years of my current role, going on 9 years. The opportunity is there for increase of substantial income, it’s really up to oneself. Very rewarding to help people succeed with their dreams becoming homeowners.

Pros

Unlimited opportunities

Cons

A lot of paperwork at times

used to be a great place to work before the changes

used to be an amazing work place with a great culture. In the last two years things have changed quit drastically to the worst. Including the managers feel pressured and you feel micro managed.

Pros

Great Co workers although they compete with you

Cons

Micro managed in a big way

Lots to learn, not alot of support

The managment was not where it needed to be. This creates stress for the employees and not a desired work enviorment

stressful, very busy and demanding.

While I was at TD there was always a large communication problem as most of the tellers only speak English, but the customers speak mostly Punjab/Hindi.

Pros

Staff is usually always helpful when needed.

Cons

Managers aren't usually willing to talk or accept tellers opinions.

Good place to work and get your foot in the door,

Great place for a young person to get their foot in the door of the corporate world. TD makes moving up in the company very very difficult for younger aged people. Was turned down for a promotion multiple times due to age.

Overall a good place to work

• Worked with clients on complex real estate secured lending deals, small business related services and financial planning to assess and meet short-and long-term financial goals. • Example of some products I would discuss/open/maintain in meetings are Mutual Funds, GICs, Mortgages, Home Equity Line of Credit, Personal Loans, Auto Loans,Unsecured Line of Credits, Credit Cards, Chequing and Savings accounts, etc.

Great place to work

A very positive and great environment to work. Lately has had developing pressure for meeting targets but it is honestly quite exciting to work there. Every day is a new challenge and an exciting day to be looking forward to. Growth opportunities are a lot and they promote education as well.

My Experience At TD Bank

TD Bank was my second employer right after McDonald. Big change but i enjoyed it. I was only 19 years old when i started with TD and felt proud to be working in a bank a such a young age. The team at the time was amazing, they made it very easy to blend in. I left after my maternity leave to start college.

Fun but stresful place

My experience at td has been somewhat positive. The one thing that is taxing is the customers who are really upset and take it out on the employees. The amount of responsibility the managers put on the people under them is stressful as well. The first thing I remeber being told when I started was if you leave there is a line up outside of people trying to get in.

Pros

talk to all walks of life

Cons

shifts are all over the map

Compare Bank Accounts. TD Bank can be a good choice for consumer banking if you can meet the conditions to waive the bank's account fees. TD accounts don't require the typical opening deposit that other banks ask for, and its monthly fees can be waived with much lower balance levels as well.

Depends on management

Room for upward mobility, in house training provided. Experience as an employee will depend on manager, can lead to a toxic work environment. Work life balance not ideal
