The culture at TD is like no other - they genuinely care about the colleague experience. If you're looking for a new place to start, this is the place to be.

Great company culture feels like your second family.

Great company culture with a positive environment encouraged. Many opportunities for advancement. At times short staffed is the stressful part of the position. Working here had a family feel and team work was usually pretty good. Good management who cares about they're employees.

Pros

culture

Cons

short staffed

Difficult and stressful work environment

My best recommendation for this job is to not take it.I do believe TD has the best intentions yet their asks of employees at this branch are unfair. The work load is unmanageable and therefore no time to develop your career. The scheduling is unfair, the training is insufficient in many aspects, and management is unsupportive. The turn over rate is unprecedented resulting in months of training only to turn around and have to train another new hire all over again. I have now since began with a new company who has given us over a month of training. TD lacks sufficient training resulting in employees having to train and often fix mistakes. Lack of communication is constant due to insufficient training. This company has a career development plan yet due to insufficient staff and lack of time the skill building is rushed to meet the corporates quota of paperwork for employees CDP's. Benefits are decent yet vacation time/sick time/holiday pay, etc. are all the same. TD Bank is a company who tries to keep their employees happy, the regional manager is very kind and tries to help! Due to being open 7 days a week when working the weekend the week shifts are quite long to achieve 40 hours in five days. Standing in one spot for 10+ hours a day. Management does not allow sitting. The best part were co-workers and regular customers!

Pros

Vacation time

Cons

Management, Overworked, Pushy Sales Culture

Easy job, but bad company.

No help when needed. Paid for one job while really doing the work of 3-4 people. Made you feel as if the bank was pretending to be a large bank but was actually being stretched too thin.

Pros

Pto

Cons

Mental health

Diverse, Inclusive, challenging, satisfying, fun, employee appreciation

TD is a great place to build a fulfilling and satisfying career. Work is challenging at peak periods but there is encouragement by management to use off peak periods to go on leave and recharge. Paid time off are given in addition to paid overtime for employee appreciation. Process improvement is priority and employee feedback are used to build a great employee experience.

Pros

Year end Bonus, paid overtime, wellness and health benefits, employee share ownership plan, growth opportunities

Cons

Long hours during peak periods, multiple overlapping projects not well planned

Stressful Job

Stressful Job, what you experience as a teller seems to vary on not only the bank you work for but the branch you work in. There are a lot of factors at play, and there is a significant amount of risk when dealing with large sums of cash.

Needs more work life balance. Managers should work on weekends. Also more job advancement opportunities are needed. All about politics when it comes to advancements

Extremely high call volume

High call volume. I wasn’t with the company long because of relocation, but I do think there is room for career advancement in the company. Wish they had more positions where I relocated.

Pros

Vto, set schedule, bonus

Cons

Short breaks, sometimes rude customers

Alot of pto but thats holidays sick time and vacation all on 1

Upper management is all about numbers. Sales is a must with every customer. Work life balance is hard. HT and supervisors do a lot of work and the pay does not reflect that. Schedules are 5 weeks out but change a lot within those 5 weeks. Managers and assistant managers should know how to do everything so they can answer questions but that doesnt happen.

Pros

Vacation time

Cons

Management, pushing sales, work life balance, schedule changes

Long hours great team members

Td is a great company to work for however the Westchester market has gone downhill. Try another market and you might’ve extremely pleased. There is no work life balance.

Pros

Happy environment

Cons

Long hours, management has to much authority and undermine the employees

it was fine

The pay and benefits were not great but people were generally happy at work and pleasant. The managers at the branch I worked at were very nice. I had never worked in a bank and they trained me.

You won’t progress unless you’re a favorite

Management is lack there of , compensation is horrible when you have to deal with the complaints and disrespect from customers non stop all day. They say they care how you are treated but they don’t. Specialty lines don’t want to accept transfer calls that should be handled by them , managers drop the ball all day , giving false or incorrect info and don’t get held accountable , they pretty much have been doing less work if at all since covid started . No one helps in the group chats . They try and delegate the work to another agent instead of doing their own job as a manager should . The list goes on . I could write a book honestly .. Do better for yourself , if you have to though do it for a short while , peace is priceless, they don’t pay nearly enough ..

Pros

Health care plans

Cons

No growth unless your favored

Poor customer service and management

Horrible management, most who work there are extremely rude and have horrible attitudes, even are rude to the customers which is most likely why they all complain. Not willing to teach those who are new and would like to learn. Many of them should rethink their careers there if they are that miserable they lack respect for their own employees and customers. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Avoid at all costs

Honestly, this job was completely opposite of what I expected. Training was terrible as you are basically thrown into the fire. There is no sense of structure and management isn’t great either. It’s very dysfunctional with the way things are ran. The branch is always short staffed and you are forced to work in humane hours. It can also get busy as it gets very overwhelming. I would honestly avoid this job at all costs and find something better instead.

Pros

Friendly co workers

Cons

Short breaks, long hours

Financial Advisor, overall decent company, but really depends on who your manager is.

Had been with TD for 4 years. Overall, a lot of advancement and career development opportunities. However, the pay is very not competitive, especially for the branch positions. Also, the kind of experience you get depends a lot on who your manager is. For the first 3 years of my time in TD, I had great managers. Mangers who care about me. However, in my 4th year, my manager was just terrible.

Pros

Good career development opportunity

Cons

below average pay and average benefit plan

Little room for growth.

Very busy, extremely understaffed. getting paid poorly for one job but expected to do 3-4 peoples work. Love my team, but doing the work of 3 or 4 people is too much.

Pros

good benefits, good pto

Cons

work life balance, pay
