Our Community Involvement
TD supports over 6,000 organizations that work to enrich and strengthen our local communities across North America and the U.K.. We view community giving as an opportunity to drive positive change in society. TD donates millions of dollars each year to causes that matter to our customers, employees and stakeholders. Over the past five years alone, our corporate donations have exceeded $300 million. While financial support is important, it can only go so far. We also contribute our services by building collaborative partnerships with community organizations. Where possible, TD strives to give volunteer time, resources and skills to help tackle pressing community issues. Local involvement is more than a tradition at TD – it’s part of our DNA. Our people’s dedication to the community comes to life in many ways, from volunteering at local schools or joining a neighborhood tree planting effort to contributing to financial literacy programs.
Protecting Our Environment
Protecting and enhancing our environment is an important part of TD Bank’s history – and is essential to our future. We were the first North American-based bank to go completely carbon neutral, and we’re continuously working to integrate environmental responsibility into every aspect of our business. From offering paperless billing to helping customers finance and insure fuel efficient cars, we provide the price-competitive green product options our customers want. We recognize that our commitment to the environment should extend past our own business operation. That’s why we work with our clients and stakeholders to proactively mitigate environmental and related social risks in our financing activities. We also support green projects in the community with corporate giving, employee volunteering and our TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. Through these initiatives, we aim to: -promote environmental education and community engagement -green our urban environment and enhance biodiversity -encourage and incorporate energy conservation. At TD, we believe that together with our customers and communities, we can make a genuine impact on the world – by making less of an impact on the environment.
Training and Development
At TD, we believe in employee development. In addition to the regular coaching and feedback provided by their manager, all of our employees have access to on-the-job training and a variety of tools and resources. These include our tuition assistance program, eLearning courses, classroom-based training/workshops and more. Our Personal Performance and Development Process will help you identify your development goals and career aspirations, and set up an action plan to achieve them. Your People Manager will be there throughout the process, helping you meet – and exceed – performance expectations. We’ll give you the support and resources you need to build your knowledge, hone your skills and gain experience – enabling your professional success. We want all of our people to achieve both their short- and long-term career goals, and your manager will champion your growth by providing: -Knowledge of the Personal Performance and Development process, and the tools and resources available -Clarity around accountabilities, objectives and performance expectations -A “clear line of sight” between your contributions and the success of the organization as a whole -Regular and balanced performance feedback – both formal and informal -Access to on-the-job experiences and opportunities.
