One company to avoid

Had a lot of dreams when joining this company since it is one of tech leaders in the world.I was hired to work at the client's site 100% of the time and never worked at TCS's office.Most of the TCS people had a long history with TCS and working with TCS ever since they passed out from college.They have this seniority superiority thingy and constantly harassing the juniors and the new recruits.And they try to avoid hiring local resources and bring people from offshore, so that they can threaten these offshore resources with visa extensions and renewals unless you cooperate with them.When it comes to work and Client interaction, it was never a problem.Forget about transparency related to performance appraisal in this company as it is purely based on seniority and the rapport that you establish with seniors like saluting them, serving them off hours and doing personal favours.Sometimes I feel TCS is more like a family-run enterprise.

Tcs is good company to stay and chase your career aspirations. I dont see any flaw or negative point, except with the remuneration part. So in short: Pros: - Good work life balance - Job security - Good onsite opportunite - Role change is easy - Locations at B town cities Cons: - Low remuneration

Good company to work

Good and friendly work place. A lot of learning experience, I have got the opportunity to work in variety of roles which include roles like Developer, Team lead, Commercial Architect, Bid Manager, Program manager and contracts Manager. Opportunities to learn and grow.

A career with TCS could be extremely rewarding or extremely frustrating. Since it is such a huge company it is very subjective. It all depends on the combination of which client you work for and which team you are a part of. Overall its a great platform to build your career on.
