Good place to work
Senior Sourcing and Supply Chain Analyst (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON24 August 2017
Its a good company to work for with good work/life balance. Salary and benefits are market averages or under. Opportunity to grow is not prominent but management is good.

Inventory Control Associate (Former Employee) –  Mount Pearl, NL16 May 2017
Worked here for about 4 years, not a bad company to work for. They have competitive wages, excellent incentive program, and good benefits. Management can be a little tough at times but overall everyone is usually happy.

Productive, physically demanding job that helps teach the importance of time management and efficiency
Night Shift Associate (Current Employee) –  Victoria, BC24 April 2017
Night Shift Associates are schedule 6:30PM-3:00AM, there is potential for overtime, however you are more likely to get off a couple hours early.
The management enforces a safe workplace while still sending out product at a very fast rate, you will receive all the training you need to succeed.
The hardest part of the job is the repetitive labour, but overtime you notice it less and less, it also happens to be the most enjoyable part of the job, forcing you to exercise in a sense.
You will learn time management, safe lifting, ethics, food safety, WHIMIS, and it may even drive you to think about how you can complete other tasks in a more efficient manner.
This is a great job, great perks and benefits, this position is for those who can put their head down and work.
Pros
Benefits, Pension, sometimes free food, "forced exercise"
Cons
Non-stop physical, repetitive, Late shift time

Driver Associate (Former Employee) –  650 Cataraqui Woods Dr.3 April 2017
As a driver associate with a bit of seniority at Sysco kingston I had a decent delivery area which consisted of a good customer base in the Ottawa area which I enjoyed for over 22 years, until it came to an end in march of 2017.This career with Sysco began in 2005 with a big pay increase which made life a lot easier for the majority of the Sysco Associates working there.I have no regrets working for Sysco, but regret not being there anymore due to circumstances.
Pros
A Great Living with better then average compensation
Cons
Physically draining and hard on a family life

Best paying meat grinder job ever
Delivery driver (Former Employee) –  Ontario16 February 2017
I was lucky to have a great supervisor and some good fellow drivers but the company was a total meat grinder to work for. Despite being unionized the company is expert at using people seasonally with promise of long term employment and will discard you at the six month probation or the minute you get hurt on the job which is guaranteed with the demands placed on drivers. Start times vary between 2am and 6am and you never know when you will finish any given shift. Expect to deliver up to 1000-1100 pieces on a busy shift by hand and by yourself using a dolly off the back ramp. Some pieces can weigh up to 60lbs each and are shaped very awkward to deliver quickly. Delivery locations often have stairs and are difficult to deliver to with very tight delivery times especially restaurants. Trucks are often loaded very poorly making it difficult keep on schedule because you spend too much time digging and searching for product not loaded on the right skids but its always the drivers fault creating a blame game between driver and warehouse pickers. Falling behind is a nightmare because customers delivery times are so tight that you have zero room for externals you can't control like weather break downs ect. Once you fall behind expect to be harassed on your phone by dispatch, customer service, one or two sales reps, sales rep boss and one or two supervisors! Being new you will be spare board and always running random delivery runs making it difficult to get quick and efficient enough to be kept on permanently. If you can handle stress are super fit, don't smoke, can drive  more... fast enough to not shift your load you might pass probation. If you do you will have one of the best paying delivery jobs in the industry if you can handle the pressure.  less
Pros
Pay and benefits, weekends off, lots of overtime
Cons
Long hours, inconsistent start times, unrealistic expectations

A great place to start and the skys the limit
Marketing Associate (Current Employee) –  Calgary, AB22 October 2016
I am a current employee of just over 10 years. Sysco Calgary is an amazing place to work. Supportive managment, competitive pay, work life balance and ongoing training and development both personally and professionally. Pay wise you start with a good salary and make more money based on your growth. You get out what you put in. I work with clients everyday and their successes are mine as well. As I said, great people, great place, great pay.
Not to mention they have operating companies all over the world, so you can potentially go abroad and work for the same company. Lots of pros, not many cons..
Pros
Staff pricing on product, good pay, work life balance, supportive management. Endless opportunity.
Cons
There are times when the hours can be long but thats when you make more money!
